That thing got a Hemi? I hope so, Bwuahahaha

I was casually taking my mother out for mother's day to Texas Roadhouse late Sunday morning. My sister rode along in my 94 Z/28.

I came to stop light and stopped a few yards back from being even with this crew cab 4x4 Dodge Hemi Truck. Lately with the nice weather when I come even with people at stop lights they think I am trying to race them. So I deliberately try not to engage unless its a worthy opponent.

Anyways, I stop and joke to my mom and sister "Hey you think he's got a Hemi?" Sure enough when I look up to the cab I see this guy's girlfriend look over at me, I figure this is typically long stop light procedure since even I was getting bored at this unusually long red light.

I continue to watch then light when I notice the Hemi inching foward to the white line as if there were stagging lights on the road. And my sister says that "the guy keeps staring over here" So I look up again and see the guy leaned back and taunting me and smiling through his tinted crewcab window. I am thinking -he must be joking- And just as the thought crosses my mind, he POWER BRAKES the damn thing till the tires begin to smoke. I uncontrollably burst into laughter and shake my head disapprovingly.

Then the light turns green and I coast out wondering if he'll make a run for it, and of course he does. After a few yards and a few mph from stop, I dump the gas and shoot by him easily. Laughing all the way, ha ha ha...

I then begin to slow down after I wave out the T-top, thinking, now is the perfect time for a "That thing got a Hemi" punch line. But as soon as I start getting close I think he realized what I was going to do and he turned off quickly without even using a blinker.

We proceded to lunch and my sister bragged up the story for the rest of the day to her friends and our family.

I guess I should have had my sister record it and we could make it into a Chevrolet Commercial

Well it turns out the Dodge Hemi owners have gotten quite cocky with the introduction of the 5.7 to their Rams. And have watched too many fantasy Dodge Hemi commercials.

I was happy to remind him who owns the road...The Bowtie and Chevrolet 350

It would of been funny if back at the light he had said,

"that thing gotta LT1?"

Then you could have replied,

"your about to find out"

Lol. Good Kill.

If the windows were down I probably would have asked the famous question and then owned him, but they were up, I am assuming A/C since it was over 80 degrees that day.

I bet he doesnt know what an LT1 is. It's quite funny, most people think your nuts when you start talking about your LT1 350. "LT1?..."

But I am sure somewhere along the line the salesman said his Almighty Hemi can beat muscle cars. Well now he knows the truth

Thanks for the replys guys.

It was very interesting that Shawn wanted to race me "that night" but after his ride in the Z/28 he wanted to move the time to the next day. Odd thing is, he never contacted me before the left for the Base...Could it be that he was full of shint and got scared of my "torque"

Very funny this kid with a 95 Turbo'd Talon AWD talked about beating me down on several occasions. Then I took him for a ride in my car before we raced. Well, he wanted to know why it "jerked and took off so easily" and that "his car doesnt do that"...."oh, thats torque and I've got plenty of it" I say. He then wanted to race the next day since he had a mothers day gift to wrap or something. So the next day comes and goes and no call for a match. bwuahaha, I guess I can count that as a psychological kill

It was also funny how he talked of how he up'd the boost but that night he admitted that he had done nothing more than "intake" which he couldnt discribe what exactly that was, exhaust, which he couldnt explain from where to where it was new and Iridium plugs which he felt a "hefty gain" from But he didnt need those mods to beat me cause his Talon runs 14.3 stock, so I am in BIG trouble, mwuahaha...

Ricers will they ever learn...oh and he also needed a wing for more down force, but couldnt explain to me why it was a necessary upgrade for drag racing

Good kill! Another clueless moron goes down. These idiots think their overweight trucks have a chance against musclecars. It takes a ton of power in those heavy beasts to scare an LT1. Dodge should have done a 500+ horse Hemi big block in that truck to do some serious damage.

Yes, I replaced my opti and did the water pump while I was in there. But after driving it for a while on my new Ac Delco's and bad opti I am going to replace them again b/c I believe are few a below par.

It's true that my car pulls much harder than when I first bought it. It even burns out on downshifts and chirps the shifts ocassionally. It's an A4 It runs like cheetah with a rocket up its hind quarters now

I am very glad I changed my opti and I am looking to see what some new Autolites will do. I think the Ac Delco's are trashed from the bad opti. The opti killed 3 sets of plugs and melted and fouled some Ac Delco's, but since I have a new one, I think I'll put one final set in.

Thanks Dan for the compliment and noticing.

Thanks Bigginz for remembering.

Wonder what their 500 horse Viper V10 in the SRT10 truck would do against an LT1.

Probably just burn the tires down to the rims.

Nice kill on a big heavy pick up truck ......for a truck the Dodge is pretty fast. Don't worry about comming up with any cool ideas for a Chevy commercial...they won't play it unless its completely GAY ...............the HEMI lives....the F-body is dead.
