Tha Evo.......
Tha Evo.......
I just read all the crap that the WRX guys are talking about the LS1. My buddy has a EVO with some bolt on stuff and he pulled me on the Highway yesterday. A lid and a cat back I think that I would run with him. So for a guy with a WRX not the STi but just the WRX to say how they are just monkey stomping Ls1 cars all day I wanna know where they live so I can race them for pink slips. I must give the EVO mAd props though its a bad azzed car and it sounds 100 times better than the WRX.

Not all but most of the LT1 crowd say with 1million miles they eat S/C'd and bolt on 99+GT's.
A stock 99+GT will eat a WRX from a roll.
Do a top end package on the LS1 and you will never ever have to worry about 99.9 percent of street legal ricers out there.
Now there will be a few that say...My buddy runs 9.40 1/4 mile times in his ricer, but that will be a non-emission legal, plexiglass window, roll caged, trailored race car.
Several guys in my club own high 10 second LS1 cars with top end packages

Yeah, WRX's run about 14.4 at 94 mph. That is what all the popular mags are getting from it. The time is in high end of the LT1 range, but the trap speeds are a good 4-6 mph less than a 6 speed LT1.
So from a stop, it may take a good 1/4 mile to catch up to the WRX, since they get great 60' times due to the AWD. Of coarse you really have to beat on the tranny to get the good 1.7 second 60' times that they can get. From a roll, the LT1 or LS1 will eat it for lunch.
That's the WRX against the LT1, now just imagine how bad the LS1 would kill it. (stock for stock)

I would have to agree
100%
Yeah, the WRX's are not bad cars. Stock, they need some work due to the very restrictive exhaust. They are very easily modified to get much better performance. (Cobb tuning of the ECM alone gets around 25-30 TQ)
They are AWD, but are pretty mushy in the corners until you get better sway bars and tires.
I've worked on an '04 that my buddy has. It's 5 speed is not nearly as friendly as the 6 speeds in our cars. It takes a while to get used to it.
