Now that's what I call manhandling a 120+ mph car.

 

Dayum... Rolling Supras, what can ya do?

 

Im extremely tired of seeing those things running from a roll....lets see some drivers w/ actually skill and run one of them off the line..any monkey can run a car from a roll.

 

Supra probably has 1100 rear wheel horsepower and still runs 11s tho. And the Viper was stock. Big deal!

 

Yeah, its not hard to get that much out of a supra....

I am also tired of seeing them race from a roll. I would love to see that race from a dead stop.

No disrespect towards the supra, always loved them..just every race I see is from a roll...and like posted previously most of those cars that run big HP usually run in the 12's. Just once I would love to see one run off the line in a video...Please if anyone has one Id love to see it...it would definately be a first here

 

Not true at all. Only the ones posted frequently on the net (Saad's car gets used as an example a lot - a poor one). There are 3 Supras within 5 miles of my house all in the 900+ rwhp mark, and I assure you not one of them runs a 12. Common misconception.

Here's a video of Marko's 8.67@159 run. As I understand it, this was an early shakedown run of the new setup. He's notorious for smashing Hayabusa's from a dig, from a roll, whatever.

 

haha - actually its not a misconception. They have a hard *** time coming off the line without breaking loose while being driven by your average joe. When someone puts a nasty set of slicks in back and takes the time to learn to drive it -- yeah, they can put down some good times at the track.. But majority of them are dyno queens.

 

When you have any empirical evidence to back that up, please let me know.

For a car that was imported in such small numbers (less than 12,000 turbo models made it here, IIRC) it's amazing to see so many of them running so fast.

I love Supras. I do not worship them. But I do get tired of blanket statements based off of a view videos seen online.

 

Just go to the track some time and watch em go.

And you mentioned something about "majority." Show me the empirical evidence that you surely used to make your conclusion.
