Wink Suprised some streetbikes..

First alittle background on the notch. 357 with AFR heads, edli converted carb intake, Custom cam, 8-1 CR and an F1 w/ fmic. Put down 77x on 12 PSI. He was running 110 I think, getting the tune sorted out for the track this weekend (running a tad over 22 PSI). All under a stock hood with dumps

After we had everything pretty much sorted out we decided to pull in the local bike hangout. The main group had left, but a few guys were there. A kawi 636, a R1 (04?) and an RC1000 (all modded to some extent).

Yea, they were talking ****. Its a cammed 5.0 with an S-trim etc, yea, they got proved wrong.

They followed us out to the highway. Went from a few slower rolls and all he did was spin. Took him a few trys to figure out the throttle. He stood on it from 40 or so and burned em, he was going to slow back down but thay caught up and downshifted at around 70. Go time - Rolled into it with minimal tire spin and totally left them. The 600 was way back, the R1 ( tailed by the RC) was a good three cars back. Went from 70 to the top of 4th ( way up there).

Im thinking hes gonna run the same time as he did before, with a few more MPH (like 10? )

What did it run at the track before? Nice kills, takes a lot of horsepower to take down crotch rockets.

Its always nice to see that a heavy street car can keep up with a bike. My buddy has a lt1 with gasket matched heads and a nice cam and sprays a 100 shot. We raced a 600 from a roll and left him. It was a fun race. Give em hell.

depending on if your buddy can ride or not and what year his bike is not to mention what is done to it they are very fast. A bone stock 2004/2005 Yamaha R1 with a good rider is a high 9 second bike. Now with the right mods done it'll only get better from there.

Depends on what kind of race you are talking about, but you do have one hell of a lead. Not to mention an R1 is one hell of a bike to try and launch hard.

RACE HIM AN 1/8 NOT A 1/4 MILE . You should have no problem that way in the 1/4 he'll have enough room to get up alot of speed and pass you.

Re: Suprised some streetbikes..

even in the 1/4 ill still get him, i ran 11.98@120 on 1 125 shot, my 2nd stage wouldnt work, but now it does (bad switch), that 11.98 was also with a 2500 stall and a bad tranny, the tranny is now fixed and im running a 3600 vig. now and for next year ill be tossing in a bigger cam and some ported heads and intake with a 12 bolt.
