Stalled 00 SS VS Modded 04 EVO

Well my first race with my new stall and i must say, In another post someone told me that the stall will only help from a stop was full of SH*T!!! Started out a on I64 east an old 5.0 rode my a$$ for a couple of miles but never did anything, then i see a black EVO with a HUGE exhaust! I ease up beside him and drop into 3 (auto of course) The cap was off so he heard me! he didnt look over so i go on about my business and while still watching him, Then all i heard was PSSSHHHHHH and he was goin by me!! I Opened up slowly stopped his pull but that was about it! First run He had the carlength he got on me by trying a flyby! id say it was 70-100! At this point i was like DANG that things quick up top! so we both merged into I564 towards base and i guess he was feeling cocky cause he rode my *** through the off ramp! when we got onto 564 i started slowing down so i could try out the new 3600 stall But he wouldnt slow down and passed me, i sped back up and as i did he took off agian and now were on a long straight shot so i floor it too! from 40-120 it was about DEAD EVEN and then from 120 through 140 i put about 2 1/2 to 3 carlengths on him! We slowed down and i rolled the window down and asked how fast we got too cause i wasnt looking! He told me then Yelled out Whatta ya expect its a 4banger!!! We ended up pulling off at a 7-11 where i found out he was a cool guy! it was a 2004 EVO that his dad bought him, He has a 3" NSX??? catback, BOV and a boost controller that " wasnt working right" but was rated to 20 psi ,and he should be good for mid 12's in the 1/4! He's also in the military too which is cool! We Shot the Sh*t for a while and he was amazed my car was an auto! But kept talking about his car not being worth crap for top end and how fast it was in the lower range, So i asked him if he wanted to hit the highway agian and start from a really slow roll and he agreed!!! I told him i needed some gas so i went and pumped some premium in (yes the first race was on 87octane cause i drove a 6 hour trip this weekend) We slowed to about 20 and he called it and started out first but as soon as i floored it i passed him and put 2 carlengths so fast i was like HOLY SH*T!!!! 3rd race 20-100 with me about 4 cars on him! 4th race was from 10-15 mph roll and had about the same results! I AM SO HAPPY with my TC!!!!! We didnt get a chance to go from a dig which was probably good since im still on street tires!!!!!! But we talked agian and kept complementing how fast my car was for an auto But that was the highlight of my night!!!!

Wow.. for not having many mods that is really cool you took him by so much. ESPECIALLY down low, where I would expect him to take you by a few cars.

Are you running a tranny cooler with that converter?

If you went from a stop his AWD would still give him the jump. Granted his boost wouldn't spool quick enough so technically you would have him down low.

He was MUCH stronger 70-120 when his turbo was Kicking! Thats where we ran pretty much even! 120+ and from a slow roll was ALL ME!!! After the last time we raced i said jokingly "thought you were fast as hell down low" he said "man, when we took off and i saw your front end raise up and you started pulling i was like, D*AMN!!! Guess a need some rear springs

Awesome story, glad I am investing in a Midwest 2800 stall for my A4. I have a few people to further impress with turbo'd 4 bangers. Nice runs glad you pulled on all of them on him. But there is one thing I dont like about it, and that is Daddy or Mommy bought car and mods. It puts me at a huge disadvantage when I dont have my parents shelling out for tons of mods or a car. Damn steel working union family, lol. Great kills!

only because SSHORTT is on streets. that 3600 stall would launch him on a set of DR's. mine is 2400 and the streets were useless untill i got the DR's. go MT!!

When you cruise your car around town with that big of a stall it usually stays below the stall RPM which causes a lot of extra heat to build up in your tranny. It gets worse when you stall it too. If you keep this up w/o a tranny cooler you will be replacing it. It's just a matter of time.

Very true. A B&M cooler is only like $50 from Summit. Definitely a good investment.

Awesome! How complex is the install? meaning is it just "added on" or will the motor/tranny have to be seperated???

^It is usually a VERY simple bolt-on You shoudln't have to pull anything I dont think.
But on a side note, I thought that all Camaro's w/ an auto *came with* a tranny cooler?

Good Kill

I think the converter is the best mod for auto cars.
