SS gets Intimidated.

First let me say I just got my car back this past saturday from Dynotechperformance with a new trans (my old trans blew up lst week) and re-stalled tighter from 3200 rpms to 2800rpms for daily driving. New trans should handle 650 Flywheel HP.

This morning coming in, I saw a Ls1 SS camaro with an aftermarket exhaust, and Eruo lights and racing stipes in the next lane at a stop light (I dont know if he had more done, but I do know was a 6 speed car), so quickly jumped in the next lane next to him and we both got stopped at a red light

Well, the first run was bad...Not even a run cuz about 1/8 mile before we ran, I ran over some slush (snow- water) with my passenger side rear tire and I was hoping it would be dry for the run but it was not...The light changes and I egg him for a run on and we get on it...I had to pedal it soft but as soon as I got into it about 3/4 the way the tires spun and the car was going side ways, I corrected it, let of the gas and went at it again, no dice it would not hook up cuz the wheel was still wet and too much torque as it would not hook....He was already like a block ahead and traffic stopped him so I did not even bother (the cutout was closed)....LATER....
I followed him from behind, praying for another red light run....2 Miles later he is in the middle lane at a light, I quickly speed up to the far right lane and now I am sitting with him at the light again
We go at it again, (this time I opened the cutout right before to the light) I was spinning badly but this time I kept back pedaling it till I hooked....He was not spinning no where near as bad so he got like 4 cars ahead of me....And soon as my car hooked about half way thru second gear....I progessively laid into it, I was catching up to him with a quickness..(My sister was laughing and jumping in her seat and clapping her hands to see us gaining on him)
I got next to him and a car was coming in front of me and his lane was still open in front, I passed him about 1 car lenghts and then let off...Later we went at it again, at a third red light, this time I had the new stall figured out a little more and he only got like 3 car lenghts ahead while I was spinning....as soon as I hooked...I caught up to him and blew right by him and we both had to stop later cuz of traffic again but I made sure that this time (with the cutout open) I was in it hard and stayed out front after I pulled him.
After that run, we were on the open road for a mile or so but he never wanted to play again....(Cutout intimidation....not too mentioned he was outpowered hahahaha)
Its funny cuz last night, I was only getting 5-6 pounds of boost (same as on last saturday when I picked up my new trans..only 5-6#s) and I did not look at the boost gauge this morning cuz I was concentrating to much on the road, trying not to spin and his car. I think my bypass valve must be sticking open or there is a leak in the system and not giving me my full 10 psi of boost.

Thx,
Claude

That would definetly help but I drive the car everday in the rain and all (around 600 Miles weekly) so ET street and DR when a little worn would scare me on the highway in the rain....That and the fact that I would have to buy a new set of DR or ET every few months....

Thx,
Claude

Yep most week, I have drove it 600 Miles, other 400 Miles or so...But last year, I had some down time with a bad opti and then a bad fuel pump, power steering going out and other stuff....So I only put 24K miles on it last year but on average, I drive it about ~25K yearly give or take 2K miles.

Thx,
Claude

Do you live in or by toms river. IF so was this on RT37 cause if it was I know who you are talking about. It's a kid by the name of mark, his car is pretty fast and with traction should be low to mid 12's I really hope you live close by I would love to see your car in person.

Nope I live in Rahway and this was on Rt 1 by Woodbridge-Edison. This SS had Black Racing Stripes and Euro Tail Lites. The SS itself is was a beige/Champange color. He looked like he has some kinda after market exhaust with a small muffler and the tail pipes were not as spread apart as Factory exhaust or an SLP Dual out exhaust. Hope that helps,
Claude
