srt8

its pretty funny how people think that you win races with horsepower, i was at the car wash the other day washing my car and out of nowhere came this cocky guy with an 300c srt asking me to race him, he was bragging about his 425hp hemi and that i was no match for his car because he had like 100hp over my car. so with all the patience in the world i finnish washing and waxing my car and went to race him on a old road near by, i cant believe the guy waited like an hour and half to get his *** kicked, i pulled out of him like 3cars in a little more than a quarter mile road. my car is basically stock but all comes down to one thing this is a CHEVY. it was only 1 pass the guy didnt want to race anymore he was pretty much in silence.

They run 13.1 @ 109 so I wouldn't call them slow.

Re: srt8

Re: srt8

Considering how much they cost and how their fans think they're hot **** I'd say pulling 3 cars on one w/ a cocker owner is quite a victory. Nice kill.

Honestly I would have expected him to pull on you though, did you get the car lengths on the launch or did you steadily pull him the whole race?

Re: srt8

i got him from the start he was almost by my side but when i hit 3rd gear thats when i started to gain distance. i know that i could do better if it wasn't for my bad traction.

It wasn't an SRT8. It was a 5.7L hemi with different badges. The SRT8's are pulling mid 12's at 110 bone stock.

Re: srt8

nope, i've seen the car a few times in town, i saw his motor, a 6.1 hemi, the front of the car is completely different from base model, and it had brembo brakes and the srt8 wheels.

Good kill .
They really weigh that much? Now dont bash me for this cuz i prolly have bad taste but i think the interior of the challenger looks better than the new camaro. Id still buy the camaro out of the two (if they come into production) just cuz its the camaro plus Dodge sucks a**. they break down before they finish the 1/4 (except the viper) cuz all the engineers at dodge are doing the body style and then they install old tank motors from Croatia or some other communist country. Good kill though I was wondering how those cars ran, anybody come across an SRT-6 crossfire yet?

Re: srt8

Yup, every single one of them in every state runs that exactly and there's no way a lightly modded SS could compete..

Re: srt8

if there is any doubt this was from a 300c forum:

http://www.300cforums.com/forums/srt...ack-times.html

GSM SuperCharged SRT8 Track Times

We went out to California Speedway today and we brought all three GSM SRT8's
it was suppose to be mid temps in the 60's but soon warmed up to low 80's.

This track is at a correctable altitude which would make the numbers even better but the Times and MPH straight up are impressive and when you compare them to the stock SRT 8 Charger you can see the gains of nearly 1.5 seconds and over 10 mph in the quater mile.

The SRT8 300 on the first run pulled a 1.65 60' which was impressive on the stock goodyear f-1's, the magnum we ran drag radial's for the first run and the 4 season Goodyear RSA's on the second run with 22 psi

all 3 SRT's were run with over 1/2 tank of fuel, which we could have netted probally a 1/10th better if we would have had more time to prepare, anyway we will be at the track again on 12/3 for some better times.

300c SRT8, Magnum SRT8 and the Charger SRT8

The 300 and the Magnum are both Supercharged and the Charger we wanted to runs stock for comparsion.

The Super Charged SRT Magnum ran a best of 12.17 @113.96 we did a little adjustment and the second run was 12.23 @ 117.14

The Super Charged SRT 300 ran 12.40 at 114 and a 12.35 @ 115

The Stock SRT 8 Charger ran 13.62 @ 104.19 and a 13.77 @ 104.12

See attached Time Slips for the SRT8 Magnum #307

Re: srt8

I know for a fact they don't go running mid or even high 12's in the quarter mile. They are way too heavy! They run a 13.1 of 13 flat at best!
