solstice FTL

Why do drivers who think their turds are fast have to be such arrogant **** suckers?
I'm behind a Solstice with the plate "1DRKSOL" (what male in their right mind would own this car anyway?) We're getting onto a freeway, and I know he's going to try and get on it because before the on-ramp he was all about getting ahead of me while blipping the throttle. So he does and I effortlessly pass him while going 1/2 throttle even to throw a rev as I pass. He immediately slows down, gets over and looks as though he's trying to blend into traffic? I thought there may have been a cop somewhere, to no avail. Mr. 1DRKSOL (so scary... and gay) just didn't want none no more of the extremely untuned SR 396, I reckon.
I was going to try and give him a look of fear and a thumbs up or something, but alas..

He's an idiot for thinking he had a chance racing you...

That said, I like Solstices. I prefer the Sky, personally. If I were in the market for a roadster, I'd give the Sky Red Line a careful look.

I like the solstice, especially the gxp version, but know that it wouldn't stand much of a chance next to anything better than a stock 99-04 gt.

Kinda off topic, but weren't they supposed to offer a 2.4 turbo in them as well? I'd think they would be kind of peppy.

The Solstice GXP has a 2.0L Ecotec Turbo making 260hp and 260lb-ft. The Sky Red Line has it too.

Is that what you meant?

So I guess when this pulls up next to you, you'd still think it was a 4-cylinder?

Those car are quick, and handle well.

Wait, so it was a base model (Non turbo) solstice? I would think those things are pigs and that guy sounds like an ***. If it was a GXP, well those things are pretty peppy.

I am truely amazed at the amount of males that drive Solstices and Skys. They really are "Cute" cars. My girlfriend got a GXP Solstice last summer and the first time I drove it, I pull into this lot in a nice town to park and let her get back in the drivers seat. Didn't take even 1 minute for 2 Life partners (if you will) approach me and say "Oh, I love that car, I want to get one. I don't think I drove it since then.

!!!!
I believe this one was turbo because it did take off quite quickly once we were out on the open. Seriously I bet those cars are fun as hell in the twisties and maybe some road coarse and auto-x type stuff, but for daily commuting I would rather drive a VIBE!

If it were to pull up next to me I still believe it would be a terd for the following reasons:

1. Person who bought it probably would not know how to drive it from a stop.

2. A high hp application like that which is feather light with an extremely short wheel base would be absolutely horrid to launch from a stop.

3. I'm a good driver.

They may be peppy but still no match for a LS1.But great kill. People like that are fun to beat. I would of blew by him at full throttle just to show him that those cars can't hang with fast cars unless someone sinks all kinds of $$$ into it with a V8 conversion or turbo upgrades and other parts.
