Smoked a Porsche Boxter

Some kids that i work with have a friend that gets to drive his dad's porsche boxter. anyway those kids just think its really fast and that i'm gonna get my *** handed to me. so anyway we ran them twice.

1st: i had a crappy start and we were right next to each other up till i hit 3rd gear and just pulled on him hard core and it was over. it was funny seeing those kids reactions when my *** end got a lil sideways in third gear. they were speechless.

2nd: we both had great starts, with me just spinning through 1st and 2nd and partway through 3rd. he was two lengths ahead of me still i started pullin in third again and when i hit 4 just flew right by him. (if you guys have ever seen the video with the zo6 with the z51 package against the 95 turbo talon thats what it looked like)

i realize its not that big of a deal but either way it was lots of fun. the first race i've had with the new set up and it was lots of fun!

Re: Smoked a Porsche Boxter

No offense, but with your mods, it should have been even uglier for him. I mean REEEEAAAAALY embarassing. Launch that thing right and he would have been at least a car behind you in 1st gear, and got worse from there.

And I agree, Boxters look faster than they are.

Good kill.

Sounds like you need BFG DRs or e.t. streets around town!

396
Heads
Cam
Gears
12 bolt

Sounds like you need some tires there. I vote for M/T ET Streets. At least 11.5.

Good kill!
I drove a new Boxter when they first came out - '98?. It felt slower than my SHO but they put the intake right next to your ear. It Sounded wonderfull! We also found it easy to bottom out in hard corners...

I have not driven or run into a Boxter S yet.

Boxters shouldn't even count as porshes, you don't see Ferrari making an enrty level car, or Lambo, or any of the other Uber Car companies. Porshes don't start till at least the 911, maybe not even til you get to the 911 turbo

Talking Re: Smoked a Porsche Boxter

Nothing personal to anyone here but, obviously none of you guys know Porsche very well. None of you guys even spelled it right B O X S T E R 986. The boxster was not intended to be a race car but rather a roadster. The name BOXSTER came from putting the boxer engine in a roadster. I own 3 porsche cars and they take corners and curves like a dream especially the 944 with 50/50 weight distribution.Anyone know where the engines are located on these vehicles? The fact that you beat a boxster on a straight away doesnt say much...especially driven by kids.

Since this is an Fbody board, what's your point?
Blah, blah, blah, Boxster history lesson omitted.

The 944? Front engine, RWD.

No kidding, since it's the Porsche entry level (Chic) car, just like the 944 was
