Should I run him?

My car gets here next week and I have a 99 TA, A4,SFC,LCA,3.73 with Auburn Posi, Fresh plugs and wires...against an 05 GT with Cold air and Magnaflow Catback. He is a new driver, his first V8 and alot of mouth. Can I pull on this guy or will it be close?

I doubt you'll have much of a problem.

Is his car an auto or a manual?

You should pull on him. Nail that launch!

You don't have to wait. That cold air will yield a nice improvement though!
Don't blow the launch....just launch slowly off idle and roll into to WOT.....

you'll win ! My buddy's GT ran high 13's and that was with all the free mods, and homemade CAI and POWERSHIFTING !!!!!

Post the results

You could but I don't think it will really make a difference in the race. You should win, it will be relatively easy. Beat him w/o and then say "Can we race again when I get a lid".

Re: Should I run him?

let him edge you out on the first run, let him get cocky, and then race him again and play for real. "hey i found the gas pedal this time!"
