Saturn takes LT1s lunch.

Raced a stock (well, exhaust if that counts) LT1 in the saturn tonight from a slow (35) roll. Man, I cant believe how slow those things are stock. I put at least 5-7 cars on him to 100. Miss my LT1... almost running again. Almost. Anyway, he deserved to lose. He had altezzas.

9s@145 or bust!

Ion Redline with a couple mods (under $500), my daily driver.

It ran 14.4@105 with serious clutch/traction issues, 2.66 60'

some lt1's run like crap stock. had you ran into a good running one he would have stomped you out from a dead stop, and been able to atleast hang from a roll. Depending on the gears/transmission it could have been a real horrible punch for that car, while you were at your storng point. there really is no telling as i was not there, but you cant judge them all off of one race.

Probably. This car is worthless from a stop because you can't hookup. My powerband is pretty flat, so anywhere from 35mph - 60 mph is a strong spot

What do the Redline's run stock? I had no idea they had a supercharged car. I probably would have laughed at a Saturn trying to race me.

My best stock run was 14.6@98 with a 2.3 60. Few folks have gone 14.3, 14.4 @ just under 100 mph

I highly doubt this. His Saturn is trapping what, at least 5-6 MPH faster than a stock Lt-1 in good running order? From anything but a dig the Saturn would be victorious, and even from a dig it wouldn't be too terrible.

Those redlines are pretty fast...There is one local to me that "beats Corvette's on the highway".I dont know if that is completely the truth but i know he rips apart a friends LT1 Z28 on a regular basis. From a dig is a totally different ball game though.

I want to try and swap a redline motor into my 93 SL1..maybe do the stage 2 upgrade. No corvette owner would ever admit to getting owned by a 93 saturn...ultimate new age sleeper?? maybe.

I beat my buddys 97 Z28 tonight. He had full bolt-ons. I pulled a car each time right off the bat and kept it from 45 and 55 to 125 or so

hey man, dont let these guys say anything about your redline, my friend has a stage 2 redline w/ headers, exhaust, and short shift and he can beat stock LS1's, i have mad respect for ions, but i still love to mess with them
