Run in with a Mustang LX

So I turned off of a 2 lane road onto a 4 lane road. In the turn signal on the road I turned into was a green 5-speed LX with white racing stripes. Well being a Mustang owner, he revved at me as I passed by, and after I passed him I noticed he turned around from the turn signal lane and started chasing after me. After getting some open room, we did a run from 35 which was terrible for me because that is right in my dead spot so he got about a car lead, but I quickly reeled him in, and then we had to shut down due to traffic.

Anyways, we eventually get to a nice straight open road with no side streets and do a few runs. From a 20 roll, he nipped me by about half a car on the start because it seems to take so damned long for my tranny to downshift. Anyways, once my car started going, I reeled him in hard, and passed him and I shut down at about 90, from which I have at least 5-6 cars on him. We then go from a dig and I must say damn my tires hooked badass because up to 100 I had probably like 10 cars on him. It was funny because there was a white pickup truck behind us that was honking when we were going from a dig, but all came up ok. He said he only had 3.90 gears and something else, but he definitly had exhaust and quite possibly a few other bolt ons. Wow, my adrenaline is still pumping.

Is'nt it funny how the slow ones rev, but the fast mustangs let you start the race. Maybe just my experience. Good kill, sounds like he's pretty stock.

You've got a point there, it always seems like the 5.0's and 4.6GT's have something to prove. Whereas the 03/04 cobras are more nonchalant.

Good kill, but don't let a stock 5.0 lull you into a false sense of security.

Very true. I really am not the one to try to start races with other cars, nor have I ever been cocky about my car. I know its quick, but there is so much more out there that would just flat out eat my lunch. I honestly think he had more than just gears because I could hear his exhaust. Either way it was an adrenaline rush.

I never pick races with the mustangs...unless they are driven my punk kids cause I know they be slow, it's the old guys with the laid back attitudes that worry me.
