So the ricers were out in full force tonight... everywhere i went all i saw was a bunch of riced out imports. I even saw one mustang that was barely identifiable as a mustang anymore it looked like it had a hood off a transam that had been somehow modded to fit on the car.
But anyway to the good stuff. The first car i raced was a little stoplight fun... it was a brand new civic si that gave me a little rev as he pulled up next to me... Light turned green and i stomped on it and absolutely annihilated him. I waited at the next light but he pulled up behind me instead of next to me so i couldnt see the expression on his face...
The second car I raced two times it was an accord all done up wit the usual body kits neons lights etc. Primer gray of course. Well he said he wanted to race me so we went to an onramp to the highway where we knew there would be no cars... we started from about a 20 mph roll and i had pulled probably about 10 car lengths before the end of the onramp... We got off the next exit and the guy said we needed to start from a stop. I agreed and we went back to the onramp and came to a stop. There had to be sand or something on the road where I was because as soon as we started the tires broke loose like I was on ice... anyway when I finally caught traction he was a good 3-4 car lengths ahead of me... I caught and passed him pulling onto the highway and let off after I had decisively won by probably 6 car lengths or so. I talked to him afterwards and he said he was probably pushing 275 hp from his intake, exhaust, and computer programming
But anyway it was a good night and the camaro was 3-0

i dont understand some of these ricers, I met this guy with a 95 civic w/ an engine swap out of an integra, so its just a regular 1.8 liter. He has intake, headers, exhaust and he told me he expects to run at least mid 13s.
Does this make any sense at all? If a civic with 1.8l can break 13s, cavaliers w/ 2.2 ecotech's and headers/exhaust/intake should be running 12s right?lol!

 

it might be true if he runs drag radials.... lightens the car up alot... and knows how to tune the car perfectly, but mid 13.s it pushing it for a stock 1.8

 

If the primer gray part wasen't so true, it would not be half as funny.

I hate the Ricer mindset. "It's a Honda, so it's the greatest thing ever, and it'll run forever, and it can do ~11, 13, whatever seconds in the 1/4 mile with just an intake and exhaust ". One of my buddies in highschool was like that. He put a Japanese spec B16A (1.6L VTEC) into his '90 Integra and it was supposed to be the fastest thing ever! Well, his older brother's '96 T/A (stock, A4) blew his doors off! Yet he claimed they were supposed to be ~14 second cars with that motor! Uh, hmmm, the T/A ran mid 14's, so I don't think his car was even close! Maybe ~16's?!

I know a couple import guys who are actually level-headed and down to earth and understand and appreciate all types of cars, but they're really hard to come by. Most of the "tuner" crowd are just retards.

 

Same here the vast majority that i ever come across know nothing about cars and are convinced that their intake and exhaust on a honda/toyota/whatever will make their car "fast." Mayb quicker then the average car out there but still in no way can be considered "fast" I also have met the exact opposite people that are down to earth and know that their car isnt fast but are willing to put the time and money into it to make it fast. Friend of mine has a wrx that he has saved up for since he was 16 and put all kinds of little goodies on it... ive seen it beat a stock ls1 so it is pretty quick... then again... if you take out the turbo... or give a turbo to that ls1... its a totally different story

 

I think it's also the "God complex" that some Honda owners have. No matter what the comparison, or what the argument, somehow the Honda still has you beat!? Even if you prove you're faster, "well the S2000 makes 100 HP per litre!" ... to which you can say it's still only 240 HP, but then they come up with more BS. Ugh.

Just like most of you I can't stand ricers. I went to highschool with a guy who had a '90 or so CRX with some japanese motor in it. Anyway he was claiming that it was a 13 second car until the day he took it to the track and ran a 15.8. Naturally I relentlessly gave him crap about it for months.

 

there is a video of someone online here that had a car that they cut off the back end. when in reverse it woulf lift the whole car in the air and drive around
