Ran a stock 93 lt1

This is the first race I have had since the H/C install, it isnt tuned yet but still more powerful.
Anyway, cruising at about 40 I signal him to go. At about 80 I let out, seemed to be about 4 lengths. My passenger said more like 7
Seems the setup is running well how it is.
We are both auto and I had 1 passenger weighing in @ 250 and he was by himself.

thats kinda bad for a h/c car... i ran a modded lt1 today with my mods and put at least 3 on him... and that was starting in my 3rd gear which sucks.... you shoulda absolutly killed him if he was stock...
if it was 7 that sounds ok i guess... but not 4

from 40-80? Thats like 3 seconds, if that.
Like I said the car isnt tuned yet, and feels good so far. Figure about 108 trap, is my guess

i ran from 75-105 and put 2-3 cars on him with him starting a car ahead of me... i just feel if it was stock you shoulda pulled way more... like i said if it was 7 that sounds about right

Pyrodawg...you obviously know little about how cars pull vs. time.

Let's say it takes 3 seconds for his car to go from 40-80 mph. Remember, the car he is racing is also gaining speed, so that eats up a chunk of his speed vs distance.

He would be right around 3 car lengths racing a stockish LT1 if his car ran mid 12's.

It is actually impossible to pull 7 cars on in that amount of time with those speeds vs the car he is racing.

Remember, objects in mirror are closer than they appear.

wait wait youre saying a heads/cam car wouldnt be able to pull 7 cars on a stock LT1 40-80? thats about 100+ whp more and who knows torque... 40-80 is just about 2nd gear for me... barely shifting into 3rd... im sorry but like i said i raced a modded lt1 from 75-105 which was only 3rd gear and most definitly did not take that long and i had 2-3 cars and i am far from heads/cam

Something doesnt seem right about your mph in certaing gears. I usually shift from 2nd to 3rd at around 62-64mph. I usually shift into 4th around 95-96mph which is also around 200ft before the end of the track.

There are to many variables when racing a short sprint on the street. Just reacting slower than the other person can add a car length.

Good kill BTW. Do you plan on spraying with your h/c setup?

Yes I do, going to wait till the car is tuned.

Another thing Pyrodawg, at higher speeds it is easier to put lengths on another car.
