Ran a 96~ish 4.6 Stang tonite.

I was on my way home. I see this yellow Stang Vert and a small Porche lookin car and a stingray Vette. I think the Stang was trying to mess w/ the older Vette. "How about pick on someone your own size." I thought... ... I cought up to the Stang. Got on the side of him (65ish), he pulled on me before I could downshift to third, so I lost the first pull. No biggie. Plus I somehow messed up 4th gear... ... don't ask, I don't know...

THe second pull, we lined up again (doing about 65-70). I shifted to third and got my R's up. We both pulled at the same time. We stayed side by side thru third and 4th. I started gradually pulling on him in third and by the time I hit 4th I had gradually passed him.

With all the SUPER rice in this town I am happy to have a great American Muscle car shoot out! Great race! well mannered too. He waved after he merged off the main drag...

Classic Stang vs Camaro race! I still have goosebumps.

Good runs.
Wonder what mods he had to hang with ya that close?
If it would have been close to stock you would have drug him down the highway.

He had an exhaust. It sounded good too!...

No idea what was under the hood. The DOHC 4.6's can pull, tho. THey say thay make about the same HP, but easier. -Better top end.

Correct me if im wrong but i thought the 96 mustang or sn95 body mustang max hp was 225 stock and didnt respond to mods well.

He said DOHC which means 32valves and in that model year was a Cobra. Which was 305 hp. A much better race than the 16 valve 225 hp unit.
Still, He would have still probably had to have mods because the LS1 in the thread starters sig has long tubes and a few other boostable goodies

Before I got my 95 Z28, I drove a 2003 Mach 1 Mustang with a 5 spd and it seriously feels like my Z would kill this car...hence the reason I didn't get it

Hey Craig,
Nope...
I sold her
Somebody kept pressuring me to buy her and I was trying to free up some bills. If I had it to do over again I would have said NO SALE!

But, Thats hindsight.
You never know with me ...I may be in another one next year....lol

You know, stock for stock I put my money on the Mach1 putting an easy 1/2 second or more on your car...

My Lightning did not feel that "fast"...it ran mid 12's. Some cars the way they come into power is misleading.

Yeah, I sold mine in April. I've regretted it almost every day since.

I think not....My Z would beat the Mach 1 that I drove and I know it for a fact
