Raced a 2005 Saleen
I raced a 2005 Saleen on Sunday morning at 3am on a stretch from a go at 35mph. I dropped it to 2nd (A4) and went on from there but my tranny took about 3 seconds redlining and the rev limiter kept jumping back and forth at 6 1/2K rpms before it shifted and he pulled about 1 car and we stopped at
100mph. We then raced from a stop and I was pulling on him until my tranny did the same thing from 2nd to 3rd b4 it shifted and this time he pulled about
a car and a 1/2 at 110mph.
We pulled into a gas station and he asked me if it was stock and I told him no told him what I had and he was surprised and told me he just got the car the same day. He was probably just learning how to drive the damn thing but I was happy it was not a spanking!
I thought they were faster than a Cobra?

Chances are you raced a naturally aspirated S281....
The S281 Supercharged are trapping in the 110-114 range, (03-04) Cobra fast.
Anyhow, get that tranny fixed and happy hunting

Wether it was a supercharged or not and wether it was the driver or not he just made his car look like ****...I dont care If I get beat by a bumper or 3 cars cuz at the end of a race I can say I had fun........

I dont expect to beat much with the mods I have a powerful new cars that are being produced but its all I can afford at the time to have fun with...

I say you're not a racer till you've lost... Heck that just means the faster you have to make your car...
Most typical loser speaches are...
"I missed 2nd" ... "I slipped the clutch" ... "Car isn't running right" ... "I bogged down off the line" ... "I wasn't ready"...
Then you end up racing them again and end up leaving twice as many lengths on them... I don't see how saying "I had fun" even when you lost is considered loser speach... That is of course unless you like the whiny kind all over you everytime you leave someone in the mirrors...

Even if it was a regular GT (which I realize the saleens are little more than), you still would have been expected to lose. It sound like you held your own, and for that you can feel good about. There's no shame in losing to a faster car, you gave it a shot and weren't an *** about it.
