So this weekend I head out to the meet up since I am currently single and don't have to worry about people bitching at me for racing!!

There is this red lighting that looks fast and wants to race someone. He said he has a mail order chip, pulley, CAI, exhaust and I believe that's it. (I don't know much about lightnings) He doesn't want me to spray him because he thinks I will beat him on the spray, sore loser.

We head out and motor to motor, meaning my completely stock motor against his supercharged motor, we race. I pull him off the line but he starts to pull me up top and beats me by about 1/2 car.

We do the same race again, this time me on the bottle and I pull about 4-5 cars on him. (125 shot)

Motor to motor, does that sound about right for a modded lightning??? Everyone keeps on saying that I should have beat him without nitrous.

I pulled about 2 - 3 cars with a stock 97 z against a lightning. I have no idea if it was stock or not.

 

Anything can happen...but my stock 2003 Lightning ran 13.90@102.5 not knowing how to launch.

Some practice launching, a tune, a pulley, a cai, an ftvb and I had 12.57@110.8 and it had a best mph of 112.8 when I added a ported blower.

Best 60' on stock F1's was 1.86

Lightning's can whip up on a chunk of cars out there....

 

My cousin has a 2000 Lightning with a 2 LB lower pulley, CAI, Flip-Chip, and catback and I pull him hard down low. From a 15 punch to 100, I have about 2 cars on him.

and i'd say you did about par for the course. how was the traction for both vehicles??

 

traction was not an issue because we went for 20 MPH roll. I don't know what yeat it was for sure. I figured I would beat it stock but like i said it was a modded lightning so I guess im not too bummed out he beat me by 1/2 a car.

 

i talked to the guy yesturday and supposedly he raced a 00 z28 on saturday night and beat him by 2-3 cars. I dont know how much of that is the truth though

 

yea either...that 00 z28 driver blew nutz or hes full of it

 

the 00z is a friend of mine and its an auto. I haven't talked to him yet but i doubt that guy beat him by that much, if any at all
