I would say you'd be right at a 13.1 with about 15rwhp gained. The shorties wont do too much compared to long tubes.

If you can drive, I would have to say 13-flat.

I would put the MAF money towards a gear...IMO...and then a mail order tune...more money but much more effective...

Forget the MAF, and I'd look at another catback. The flowmaster sounds good, but is a little more restrictive than many others.

15 hp is all? with 15 hp, he is able to drop.4 tenths or more? i thought every 10 horse is roughly .1 in the 1/4 mile? i hope it is quicker than you think with the money he spent on it. thanks for replies.

The flowpack may get you .1 quicker. The shorties & y-pipe is a waste of $$$ but may be good for .1 on a 1999 LS1. The flowmaster (another waste of $$$) is only good for maybe half a tenth. The maf sensor is a waste. The shifter may gain him another tenth though because it may help his driver mod.

So my opinion is you gained about 3 tenths and maybe 15-20 rwhp that a dyno would show (CAI in the flowpack will give a small gain but does not register on any dyno).

I definately think he can hit high 12's with some practice. More then likely he left some room for improvment in his 60' time on the original 13.4 run (most M6 guys do when they are new to drag racing). My guess is he could run a 13.1 as it sits but with some good launching and power shifting his car probably has a 12.7 - 12.9 run in it (which means Evan Smith could get a 12.5 ).

Yep, I'm in the Rochester area. I live in Brighton and work in Irondequoit/sea breeze. Been here for almost a year now and so far I like it

Re: post for another friend- opinions please

tell him to go with the Magna flow catback!

i wouldnt waste the money on the MAF, he really doesnt have any mods that would make it necessary to get one!

again, i would do long tubes...the sounds and the performance is 1000 times better! very little gain with shorties!

the shifter and the flo-pac are the only things u listed i would definitly get! along with the long tubes and a ypipe, i would go with a gear change and maybe a tune (mail order or dyno-tune)! that would help wake up his LS1 and he is sure to run in the 12s

ill be out to NY International on june 3rd to get my 11's! im very tentative about launching hard on the stock rear and clutch!

That's the times I was thinking, but I didn't want to over-estimate it

But why are shorties useless on an LS1?
