I don't recall the manufacturer... but as a general rule the bigger the better.

I'm just bought a finned oversize tranny pan, hopefully we'll get it installed this week end... it adds 2 quarts of fluid in volume and the fins heat-sinks the pan providing great surface area for air to pass over to promote cooling.

You're going to LOVE the Vig man... best money you've ever spent on that car.
I ,m looking at one w/a gvw of at least 1900 and considering the gains i got from first the 1.6 rockers, then the headers, things are getting real good now,but i can,t wait till that Vig is in & the c/o.Thanks for that info.

I have a 3600 without a cooler. I wouldn't advise running around with it unlocked either, though!

dropped my 60's from mid 1.9's to 1.73. Everything else he said is the same its flat out nasty out of the hole. One question. Any problems with gear changes on the track? or did you get a tune? At the track mine would bounce off the rev limiter on 1st to second. Street it never does it. Mines a 9 1/2 also
The OBD1 cars have problems when you put 2800+ stalls in them.. has to do with the VSS not being in sync with the car's speed vs. RPMs of what it thinks it should be.. it really shows on the track because the car is fully loaded up with full traction and the converter is stretched out. I had a 2-3 problem on mine, but we're talking about 7-8 years ago when I still had an LT1.

Best bet is to get it tuned or convert to OBD2. I had my transmission built and converted to an on/off switch with the computer and the ability to fully change the gears as I pushed them up from 1 to D... I could actually take off in 3rd if I wanted to. That fixed the problem, but the other problem after I put the 396 in was melting the 4L60E.

How much of an issue is this going to be with say a 3500~ stall, I do not want to be bouncing the limiter , tons of others have done it so I am sure I will live.

I think by now (15 years since the 1994 cars ROFL! ), the problem should have been fixed/address, so it shouldn't be much of an issue anymore as long as you get a tune from a reputable tuner, a tranny cooler, and a shift kit.
