Nice times. I have a similar setup. What was the elevation of your track.

Yeah man I know. There is a kid that is offering is 3800 stall but I don't know if I want a 3800. I was thinking of a TCI with a 3500 with some BFG drag radials. I would give it around a 12.5-7 with a TC and sticky tires. Thanks for the compliment

Re: New track times!!!!

My BEST stock was a 13.8 but that was after 2 hours of letting my car cool off. I ran a consistant 14.0 bone stock. With 4.10 gears, 3500 stall, and some DR's, I hope to be at least a 12.6.

Re: New track times!!!!

Full bolt on's cept 1.6 RR's, Pulley, and Aluminum DS too

I wouldnt get too optimistic. Unless your MPH increases I dont see you running 12.6's. Altough I hope you do. What was your 60' time? Darkhorse's old setup had full bolt on's with a 3000 stall and BFG's cutting 1.6-1.7's with a medium size cam. He managed a 12.3 but usually ran 12.6-12.7 @ 110-112. Altough your altitude may help your case since you were running 13.8's stock.

I think if you completed your bolt on's with a 3000rpm stall and some 3.73's you might hit 12.6 at 106 or so. Beware though, 4.10's are gas unfriendly. My 3.73's are killing my highway driving. What do you plan as mods after tires/stall?

I think your car is running good and congrats on your times.
But I don't think you will drop your times as much as you are predicting. I hope you do but I would say 12.90s at best. Your mph doesn't show the potential to run any faster. That stall will only get you a little bit because your still running a stock camstick.

Good luck and let us know your times after the stall/tires...

Re: New track times!!!!

No I'm saying with M/T E/T streets, 3200 stall, gears, and other bolt ons I'll be mid 12's, not just with tires or anything. I know people that drop a consistant .6 off their E/T's WITH stalls. I don't know why I didn't include the other stuff, I think I kinda forgot lol. But yeah, gears, stall, good tires and some little stuff I'll be mid 12's. I know I wouldn't get a 12.6 with just drag radials and what ever else I mentioned. I heard 4.10's would hurt my E/T cause of my stock cam. So I decided on 3.73's with a 3200. My 60' was a 2.0790. After tires, gears, stall, I'll probably work on suspension, then get an LE3 heads package from LE in a few years. How mufh of a decrease in MPG did you see with the 3.73's. I might also put a 100 shot in, not sure about that yet.

Re: New track times!!!!

If you plan on doing a cam, or other motor work, figure on matching the stall speed to the cam or H/C your anticpating. Stalls and camshafts go together like slow and mustangs. 3200 isnt a bad size, a bit big for a stock cam, but if you expect to throw a CC306 or GM 847 in, then it would match great. Plan ahead so you dont regret it down the line.

Mid 12's dont seem too hard, but its harder than I first thought. Get that trap speed up and you can get there. Youll need E-WP, good ASP underdrive pulley, 1.6 Pro Mags or GMPP equivelant, maybe a larger TB and Aluminum DS for a tiny bit more power. Most cars I see in mid 12's are trap higher than almost every bolt on LT1. Although I know of at least one LT1 pulling 12.4's with bolt on's and he doesnt even have them all. You might have a freak, but I'll call 12.9-13.0. Talk to the guys who have done it and take their advice.

Good Luck and keep us updated.

Edit: My MPG didnt go down much if any. Nothing noticeable. If your doing a LE3 talk to Bret Bauer or Lloyd about what stall they recommend with 3.73's. If you do N20, I am pretty sure those guys run lower rear gears like 3.23's and such. Thats a great 60', last time I was at the track I pulled 2.4's

Re: New track times!!!!

I know those kid that has a 3200 stall, he has everything I have done including 3.73's, drag radials, all that plus what I have, his best was a 13.16. Now I'm running a 13.4 on street tires, no stall, and stock gears. I'll def. be more than a 13.1 with a 3200 stall, which is what every company I have talked to has recommend the stall that I get. The LE3 package requires 4.10's and I believe it was a 3500+ stall to take advantage of it. That's why I wanted the 4.10's now. But if my rear blows, I'll be getting a Strange 12 bolt.

12.9-13.0 seems a little high don't you think? Considering I'm running a 13.4 now, adding almost slicks, gears, and a torque converter. I hope to get at least a 1.8 60' with some good tires with the stall and gears. A lot of cars seem to be running slower than mine with the mods I have on it now. I don't know what it is.
