my z,vs 00 cobra, vs 96 formula

a couple of my friends and I drove our sports car to work this morning, trying to get some excitment out of our 60 miles 1 way drive to work, the cobra just had a brand new engine installed, less than 1000 miles ago, 5speed, and the computer is programmed from procharger, and has bigger injector's. it was supercharged, but the motor popped, and they took it off for warranty reason's. Anyways,my other friends formula is a 6 speed lt1, with pacesetter headers and hooker catback. also has most of the cheap mods. his car also has roller rockers installed. anyways my car is pretty much stock, only thing i really have done is a slp loudmouth exhaust. we all left out of the park and ride, and withing min. the formula, and cobra were off and running from app. 65-75 mph roll to 120-130. the cobra pulled him from. But the formula stay with him for the most part.so next it was my turn to line him up,"cobra i mean" we get to the next long straight, and it was on, i took off in fourth gear, about the same mph as they did. the cobra won once again, but surprisingly he didn't pull away from me as i would have thought. from start to app. 120 mph he was only about 1.5-2 cars ahead. after that the formula and cobra go again. and this time the formula was a def. contender, they ran pretty close together.the cobra still won however. but a little more work on our cars, and we'll be lining him up again. that cobra ran very well,it picked up speed very quickly. but overall the 4th genners in the bunch was pleased to know that our cars at least kept up with the cobra. and brings me to a question or two. my friend with the cobra was wondering what the gear ratios was for his 2000 cobra.and also, this gives me a bit off confidence. my girlfriend is supposed to be buying a brand new gt mustang, probably next spring. and since it should have the lesser 4.6 engine,i mean as in i believe it will be the 3 vavle'd engine, instead of the 4 cammed,4 vavle'd cobra we faced, we was going to drag her car and my camaro,me and her dad.... they are die hard ford fans, and particularly the mustang. but i might have a good chance if this was any indication. what do you guys think??? are the new mustang to much to take on for a somewhat stock 97 lt1 6 speed??just figured i would share with you guys.

Man I don't have trouble with those cobra's at all....maybe your car's not running right? And the new GT's have 300 hp they are pretty fast and you'll need some more umph to outrun it
