My supercharged LT1 gets beat by a Honda!? (video)

Okay, it was a low 12 second Honda to be exact, and this was my first time at the track with slicks and my supercharger, so I had a pathetic run. Either way, that Civic was pretty fast .

I was in the left lane, and he was in the right. Here's a pic as we finished;

And here's the video. My second run in the video, I did much better, but still had much room for improvement. I just wish I would have ran against the Honda the 2nd round so I could put him in his place where he belongs.

That is some serious 10 second potential there. What are the details?

Just curious , Was the Honda a trailer queen or was it driven to the track?
Also, What's the projector called on your dash?

I wasn't really paying much attention to the guys running in front of me, (or even much of the guy running against me at the time).

The thing projecting the MPH on my windshield is a HUD (Heads Up Display). I got it from a company years ago that I believe is no longer in buisness, and just recently installed it.

your car defintly has 10's in it, Nice to see you gained another 5mph on the 2nd run

now what was the 60' on the 12.2 run? Then what was the 60' on the 11.5 run? just curious

Both runs were only a 1.9 60' time. The second run I was able to stay in it, where as the first run I got out of it twice to keep the car from loosing control.

I'm sure 1.6-1.5 60" times are possible with the right heating of the slicks, and track preperation.

Hmm - how much boost are you running? I would think that the MPH would be a lot higher considering your mods.

FWIW - my Z ran 11.30's@ 120 (best mph was 123.x) on mid 1.8 60's and it was a cam + bolt on car with 5 lbs boost, stock heads and stock bottom end otherwise.

Car has potential for sure - I could never launch my car hard and only ran it with worn out Drag Radials - put exactly 400rwhp/430rwtq on a dynojet tuned by Bryan Herter.

Ahh - watched the video, there's the MPH I was expecting!

Very nice.

I lost to a gutted turbo civic hatch, was a decent low 12 car, killed him bad out of the hole but he came around me at the top of the 1/8

This guy ran like a raped date out of the hole, and I was closing on him the rest of the way.

I am running just under 15#'s of boost. Back when I was just N/A, I dyno'd at 420 RWHP, and my best time was 11.8 @118. You can tell just from the MPH difference in the first run to the 2nd one that it was all in launching and hooking up. I am confident the MPH would climb a few more had I gotten a better launch and had heated up the tires better for traction between shifts.

Time will tell. I plan on going back to a better track soon where I can get more than two runs in, and I know the track preperation is better

615 RWHP and only 12s! And people give me crap about 12.6 for a stock car and 75 shot. But a better 60 will get you mid 11s for sure. Maybe wind it out more too.

lol, watch the video first next time. I'm confident more practice will bring 10's. The video already shows a mid 11.
