Talking My first kill...

My first kill is a ricer kill. Having just picked up my bone-stock Z28 A4 a month ago and being in Alaska, it's been parked in my garage just waiting for the roads to thaw out. Oh sure, i've taken in on tours down the street a couple of times, and to the store, but with nothing but ice on the roads, i never dared to punch the throttle.

We've recently had some warm air from Hawaii head our way, sending the temps soaring into the low 40's (hey, after a month of 0-5 degree days, 40 is soaring). The main roads are all melted, but still wet (parking lots and less traveled side roads are still buried in ice). This warm air won't stay for long, so yesterday, Sunday, i pull her out from hibernation.

I cruise for a few hours, hitting every red light i could. Checking for cops, i'd roll the throttle on the green as best i could without spinning the wheels. A few hard 1-2 shifts were all i was looking for. I didn't want to race anyone, i'd prefer to keep it to the track, but it seemed like everyone and their mother wanted to try to dig me. I shrugged them all off, i'm cruising to enjoy the ride.

Then it happened, i got that one guy that just wouldn't leave me alone, keeps giving me the fly-by, throwing some revs at me. Stereotypical ricer. Big fart-can exhaust, wheels that are so big they can only hurt performance (which is doubly odd since most people roll on stock wheels or cheap steelies this time of year) and some big decal splashed on the front windshield from some manufacturer for some part that i have no doubt doesn't even exist on his car. Best of all, it's a 90-93 Acura Integra. Well hell, i own one myself, i know what they're capable of... or not capable of. He slowed so he could buzz by me again, this time there were no other cars around. I saw him accelerate and when he was beside my rear bumper, i dropped the hammer, waking the LS1 up. By the time he was at my door, my speed matched his then i pulled away. Up ahead, the next light flickered yellow. We both stop.

This little ricer, give him credit, because he was not deterred. My little demonstration was not enough. He threw more revs at me, determined to get a race in before the sun fell. Ah, what the hell, traffic was light and no cops in sight. I popped my A4 into neutral and tossed a rev back to let him know i was game. The light went green and once again, i rolled the throttle on as best i could. Half-way through 1st gear and it was floored, the ricer rapidly falling away. 2nd gear hit and my Z lunged forward like it wanted more. But, i knew better, i was already at 50mph with 60 coming fast. I backed out, i'm sure the ricer got the point, but he still did the loser-fly-by, apparently with the throttle still slammed open judging by the buzzing noise of his fart-can.

I was a few blocks from home, so i turned off on the next street and pulled it back into my garage... sort of, the parking lot is still iced over and i got stuck as i backed it in. lol. Had to get a friend push me out.

Oh well, got my first kill. Can't wait to hit the track!

Thanks. There's only one strip. Alaska Raceway Park is about 30 miles from Anchorage, in Wasilla.

Not really, though i've seen a few that are braver than i and just put studded snow tires on theirs to drive them all Winter. No thanks for me, that's why i've kept my Integra.

Glad i took the Z out yesterday, it snowed overnight and it looks like everything's frozen up again. haha.

Sucks that most of our first notches on our belts are some random 'teggie or Del-Slo. Then again, there are way more of them then there are us. Good kill.

My first kill was a Mustang GT (95-ish, 4.6 or 5.0, couldn't tell), followed shortly by a '98 Z28 M6 (cannibal, I know) and then a modded Grand Prix GTP.

My "best" kill was a C5 M6 at the drag strip -- I ran a 13.3 to his 13.8. That felt good.

There aren't too many ricers around here. I kinda like it.

Haha... yeah, the tb bypass was just a passing thought on the mod list. Probably do it for the Summer tho and just hook it back up for Winter.

Re: My first kill...

Im getting my 97 z28 hopefully next friday, cant wait to see what my first kill is, might be my friends riced out Honda Civic(stock performance wise, go figure) or my other friends v6 camaro i just sold him lol

Even though there are a couple GTs and other Z28s here at the dorms i would much rather run against for my first race.

Re: My first kill...

You mean the Integra didn't push his NOS button and accelerate so fast the lightspectrum shifted, like going to Warpspped in Star Trek?

Gee, that's what they do in Fast and Furious. No wonder they do fly-bys. They can't believe they lost after watching those retarded movies.
