Cobra's are NOT mid-12 sec cars.

I have seen their postings at Sears (Infineon) and if they get into the low 13's it's becaus of their mods.

Maybe Popular Hot Rodding, or Car & Driver can get those numbers, but that's with a fresh engine, brand-new tires, and a who-gives-a-$*** attitude.

I personally need to drive my car home afterwards.

I've got timeslips and LS1-owners who witnessed the passes.
I drive my car everyday and have put 5400 miles on it in two months.

yes,03 and up cobras are mid 12 sec cars.

 

He's referring to the two hard top Cobra's that put down better #'s stock than the vert at Big Shot Dyno. Check out what the '00 T/A with a 427 LS1 and Incon twin turbo's did in the Cars section at Big Shot.

I recall a motortrend aritcle that pitted the WRX STi against the '03 Cobra, and the WRX beat it by .01 seconds. They were both LOW 13 second cars. If I can remember correctly, I remember the Cobra getting a 13.03 time, or something very close to that. And thats with Motortrend people driving it. Hmmm...

 

Yeah...you're right.

Magazine drivers get the best times out of cars. In fact, MT got a 13.8 out of an LS1. I think anybody claiming to run faster did it in a modded car.

The only magazine guy who seems to be a decent driver is Evan Smith and he ran a 12.778 @ 111 in a stock '04 vert. I believe he also ran a 12.4 in a stock '03 hard top.

 

Isn't it funny how a "slow" magazine time is correct when you dislike a car but when it's a slow time in a car you are fond of, it's automatically wrong. Jesus Christ could appear before some of the people here and tell them the Cobra is one heck of a car yet they still won't believe it.

 

I was just remembering what I saw, I didn't say that anyone's Cobra couldn't possibly do 12.6's stock. The only thing I have a hard time believing is the High 11's stock claim. Other than that, the '03-4 cobra is an amazing machine. Hell, I want one. Sell me yours.
