Mustang Bullitt vs 1994 Z/28

My friend and I were driving around town when we passed a newer looking Mustang. We though nothing of it until he flew up on my rear and started chripping his tires at a stop light. We turned onto a 2 laner and went at it from a 30 or so roll. I pulled nicely on him until he "missed 3rd" We then caught a empty road and a red light. The light went green, I eased into the throttle, then I mashed it to the floor. It sent me cruising past him with 2-3 car lead at the top of second, I think around 70 or so. Afterwards the guy was speachless, the only thing he could utter was "****ing fast" and "fast as hell" He asked me my mods and I his. He was stock, which until I saw he was a Bullitt I was suprised he kept up so well. He was a manual. I figured I did well for having an extra person. Knock another one up for the Z. I think I could have pulled more if I had some DR's, but I am still pleased. I sure would have liked to put more on him than that though. I hear the Bullitts pull slightly better times than regular GT's. Did I do well? To be honest I was hoping to do better against a stock car like that. But there is nothing to suggest he was bone stock either.

Yea I was under the impression they had better pulleys, exhaust, and intake manifolds. I really wanted to run him into the groud though, perhaps if I took it higher into the mph it would have been uglier for him. Thanks man, I'm sure you'd have a terrible time taking him

Yea all they are is glorified GTs(just 5 more hp from the intake)...think the best Ive ever heard them go was a 13.6 stock w/ is about a tenth better then the fastest 99-04 GT

Re: Mustang Bullitt vs 1994 Z/28

Good kill

A well driven bullitt can go between 13.8-14.2 I even seen what I was told a "stock" bullitt go 13.7, but they are very close to a GT they have 5-8rwhp more and a little better torq curve. Nothing major the difference can be about 1 tenth faster and 1mph better but most the time you wouldn't know the difference at the track... The Bullitt is a hair heaver and the lowering springs prevent it from launchin as good as a GT. So it all evens out at the end.
