modded lt1 vs. c5
My stuff in sig link to cardomain. All bolt ons and 1.6 rockers. C5 was bone stock 6 spd with blackwing and intake tube. C5 driver was not a great driver and didn't want to go out of the hole, good choice for him. I gtech a 13.5 at 106 ish (actual trap probably 103 ish, gtech speed is 3-4 mph high at 1/4). I rode with him before and he could only best a 5.93 0-60. I run a 4.9X to 5.00 0-60.
Race one roll on from 20 ish. I am in overdrive he is in 2nd. I toot 3 times and instantly put 2 cars on him. At around 125 he finally starts to pass me so I get back off the gas. He rolled it up to around 135 before getting off the gas.
Race two roll from 10 to make sure he is in first. Three toots and I instantly pull 1 car. It stayed at 1 car until around 80 when we both got off the gas.
Race three roll from 10. Three toots and he starts close. 1/2 car and we stay there until 80 again.
To be honest I was expecting to lose all of those from a roll on. If we ran out of the hole (i have MT DR's) I would have killed him. I think most of it is driver but here is the best part of the story, before we even ran we took it for a short drive to get pizza. This is how I gtech'd his 0-60. When we got back to the house his girlfriend asked me if I liked it and thought it was fast. I said "well go for a ride with the camaro next and I will show him what a fast car looks like". His response was "just show me the road buddy". There is something sweet in beating someone who thinks they are fast.

That is kind of awesome ...
Nice runs.
For some reason, alot of Vette guys get cocky like that.
The only thing better than winning a race like that is revving the car at rice boys and watching them go

i almost asked him if i could drive it. i have little doubt with just a few minutes of seat time i could drive that car faster than he could.

I can tell you what not to do:
Dont buy it based on what you think would be collectable or worth having later. Get what you think would be fun to have now, and the one you feel is better for you, not a better investment. Theres no two ways about it, cars are a poor investment. Even if the car went up in value a long time from now, inflation would be higher anyways so the car really wouldnt gain much value.

ZO6 without question, if it's been well cared for. JMO, i'd stay away from the blown car, it may have gotten hurt.
A Z06 with H/C is a SOLID LOW 11 sec. car and I really like 'em.

All Vette's are panty droppers ... lol
And if you find a girl who knows enough about cars to know what makes a Z06 different from a Z51, shes probably a butch anyways...
Hot girls who know alot about cars are far and few.
