Mid Ohio

Long time reader, first time poster-
OK, so I went to a Porsche club event at MId Ohio Sports Car Course (got invited, long story). Anyway they divided us all into groups, this being my first time at midohio and my first time on a roadcourse ever I was put appropriately in the rookie class (the only Fbod, the rest were porsche, BMW and two ZO6's). Well, to put it bluntly, per my instructor, i was the fastest guy in the class the whole weekend, I was passing ZO6's and Carreras like they were standing still. These Porsche guys were coming up to me all weekend asking me what the hell I had in there. It was AWESOME passing Porsche's and ZO6's on the back stretch. I know a lot of this is skill and not car but I know these guys kept me behind them because they were convinced once we hit the back stretch they would leave me. But HELL NO! I would be on their *ss coming out of turn six and they absolutely could not shake me! Even on the straight! I was turning a 2:04 lap time my first time out and per my instructor that is an amazing time, i had him holding the Oh Sh*t handles saying Yee Ha going around the track and he has been racing for 30yrs! Sorry about all the bragging, cant help it, nothing like passing a Porche at their OWN event on the stretch at Mid Ohio!

If this is true then those z06 owners need to give up their cars if they can't leave you in the twisties. If they're gonna go to a track then they'd better find the limits of their cars and stop taking it easy. I know if I ever went to a track I probably wouldn't have any tread left (good reason for me not to go... )

Way to show them that the car isn't everything...
