Was cruising around town and saw a clean black 98 vette coming up behind me, we ended up catchiing a red light. We both rolled through the green light slowly and i gave my car a little throttle , he quickly pulled beside me at around 30 mph we hit it and i put about a car length on him by about 65 mph,I pulled in to the gas station and he pulls up beside me. Its an older black guy with the top off, he says " You really think you can take me from a stand still?" Me- " I dunno?" "What year is it? Him - "its a 98 man I got the Ls1." Me- "What do you got done to it?" Him- "Just Snap ons" Me- "Well we can get on the highway and find out" Him- " Ok , I'll wait for you" So before I go to pump my gas I look at my wife ... Shes got this look on her face that just says "No F$%!ing Way" and tells me to take her to the grocery store and drop her off. So I tell the guy that " My wife is scared of my car and I have to go drop her off" Him- "Ok, I will follow you" Ok now by this time I'm thinking wow I must have really pissed this guy off, That is a bad *** looking vette and now he is gonna smoke me. So I pump my gas and proceed to the grocery store, driving my car like an old lady. After I drop my wife off , I asked the guy where he wants to go, So we go to a nearby highway and he comes to a dead stop.. I pull beside him and roll down the window. Him- " Lets go from a roll so we dont spin" ok im thinking this is good because my car is not too familiar with traction. So I give a little throttle and we are rolling on the highway at about 15-25 mph I'm watching him and he gives me a nod and tells me to hit it. BAM I break loose in first jumping out on him hard, Hit 2nd gear and I broke loose again as the back of my car slides to the right. I look in the rear view after I hit 3rd gear somewhere around 110-120 mph and I've got 5 cars on this guy, So I shut it down. He puills up beside me and says something smiling real big , I couldnt hear him over my car until i hear Him- " turn around" So I hit the next turn around and he pulls beside me. Him- " Thats a powerful little ****" Me- " preciate it, You wanna go from 35?"
Him- " Is that what we just went from?" Me- I'm not real sure" Him- " I think I could get you on the top end" Me "What kinda gears you got?" Him- "I dont know" Me- "LOL" "You wanna go from 60 mph?" Him- "Nah I think you got it for today" Me- "Drives home with cheeks hurting"

Why would the BS flag go up? A built heads cam LT1 should win the race against a fairly stock 98 'vette.

 

I haven't been a member all that long, from what I've seen, I'm pretty sure somebody will call b.s. and have a LS1vsLT1 debate.
