Honestly what is? I dont think a LT1 Fbody or a Mach1 is amazing but they both hold their own.

Re: Me vs 01 GT

How do you figure than an LT1 f-body puts to the tires stock what a '01 GT makes at the flywheel? THey are rated at 260 at the flywheel (01 gt's) and a '97 lt1 is 285? I say with a driver it should be a decent race stock for stock. With having more mods than him, I wouldn't worry too much about him. Those cars with heads/cams though have seen bottom 12's at 114-117mph.

He's about right, 6spd LT1s in decent condition can hit 250-260 rwhp stock. The 275-285 hp rating was underrated...

I dont know why your so cocky about it. A huge percentage of it depends on driver skills. A few posts us some one said they beat a cobra, and then switched cars, and the poster said they still beat him in the f body. Which goes to show, alot has to do with the driver. You could take two manual cars, one with 100 more hp than the other, and put a ****ty driver in it and a grood driver in the other. Who do you think would win?

Slow_98_T/A ~ You need to do some reading up on the LT1 cars ... They FOR SURE will dyno an easy 250 at the wheels with a M6 bone stock. Cars with mods comparable to mine in a M6 are tipping the 300RWHP mark. I have personally seen, in my hands, a dyno sheet from a total bolt on LT1 car, Headers, ORY, Hooker, Moroso CAI, 1.6 GMPP RR, LT4 springs, EWP, Tune, TB car that put down 326 RWHP in 80's weather. Not too humid though. I will try and see if I still have the copy of it on my computer. If not Ill get him to re-email me it if you wanna see it.

You proved my point....the mustang stock for stock manual to manual or auto to auto, would HAVE to have a better driver than the camaro!! or it wouldn't be a race everyone knows this i've owned 4 mustangs myself and im on my 5 th F body. NO COMPARISON!!!

Re: Me vs 01 GT

It also depends alot on the both of you. It could happen to annnyone, but if you miss or slip a gear when the other person is still gettin down on it, you'll probably lose because of that mistake. The driver factors allllloooooot in an outcome, especially when running manuals, autos just hold the pedal and say the common blessing of "Shes gonna go or shes gonna blow!" lol maybe thats just some of the people i know *Shrugs*.
With what im gathering through your car and the stang description, im agreeing with everyone esle, he should be nooooo problems at all for you
