Good runs, Tim! Amazing how 2 years later and we're both still futzing around- tweaking, tuning, generally being very nervous and not wanting to blow anything up (cause neither of us can afford to break anything). And running about the same times. I'm doing 12.5 @ 115 on street radials- 2.2 60 foot times.

I'll catch up with you sometime, I'm sure. Probably around 2007.

You can't just list mods, times etc. that easily! That is too nice and straight forward. You must be like Short Round and beat around the bush, never list the mods in his sig., and think everybody is too stupid to understand the mods! Also, somebody is going to steal your car if you list the mods, even if you don't mention your location!

There may be some truth to that. If he would just have a straightforward sig. like most people, he would catch so much less sh**. He would save time telling people of his mods, when they ask. I got sooooooooooo much sh** on this board for listing a corrected for elevation e. t. long ago, so I quit doing it.

All stock engine internals in the new engine? What kind of boost are you making?

I'm putting together plans to blow my 01 Grand Marquis LSE (buckets, center console w/ shifter, handling & performance pkg) next summer, though not to quite that performance level. The standard roots kit for that platform by Allen Engine Development is 6psi and liquid intercooled but I hope I can run 9psi without breaking anything. With a new converter from PI (guessing in the 2500-2600 rpm range for a daily driver), the stock 3.27's, a Detroit Truetrac, and 245/50/16's out back I think it can do 13.0s.

2007? LOL.... you're right though, we've both been putzing around forever it seems, eh? LOL. Just when I thought my 60' times were bad, you come in here and tell me about your 2.2 hahahaha.. just kidding you know I gotta give you some hell. hahahaha.... the car has more mph in it for sure. Next time I'll remove a little weight and see how she does. I still think it's good for a few more mph

LOL..... my sig is straight forward I thought? LOL... it says "98 GT: Just a few bolt-ons " .... everything is a bolt-on these days, right? The blower is bolted on by 6 or so bolts, the intake....., etc, etc, etc,............ why put all those silly mods up there anyway? No one truly cares.....

Steve,
The car is what it is, period. I have nothing to hide and if it can possibly help someone by seeing what it takes to get a little 4.6 SOHC into the low 12's or possibly faster, then I'm all for it.

Nice to see the car (and you) coming around again Tim. I hardly ever visit this section anymore, but when I saw your name under the "last post" moniker on the forums index I got curious Nice runs man, looks like there is a LOT more left in it.

On another note, I remember you telling me a while back that you had Randy @ True Blue tune your old combo. Plan on having him doing any more work? He is no longer with TBP, and has his own outfit here in Raleigh now. He has a shop with a dynojet and all the related tuning equipment right off of I40, about 3 miles from my house IM me if you want the whole story on what has gone down with him, and all of the other Mustang racers and tuners down this way...a lot has changed for sure! I was at Randy's shop just the other day BTW, and one of his partners had a 1999 GT with a built motor and S-trim making in the range of 520rwhp Not bad for a lil ol 2 valve

And....I see Mike's LX is no longer on the stock shortblock now...what kinda numbers is that animal putting down these days?

LaterZ,

D.

Randy tuned my old setup and I know about him leaving TBP By the way, I will be doing my own tuning on my car soon. I have a good baseline right now with minimal timing/boost and now I just need some more seat time. Next run I'll try to get a little more aggressive.

Mike92Lx,
Thanks bro... been a long hard journey that's for sure.
