Mach and turbo Corado bite the dust.

Okay as you guys know, I finished my motor and finally took her to the tracks a couple weeks ago with horrible results. The good thing is that I didn't loose. I'm here because John (Fastzntennessee) always sends me his kill stories so I figure I'll throw mine in.

Anyway my first run I raced a Mach 1. he's looking at me with this grin because I have an old 97 and he has a brand new 33k Mach 1. We leave the line and even with my horrible 2.3 60' I still leave him behind. This is the funny part. As I shift into second, i'm still slightly spinning but rolling on the throttle. I floor it and my car fish tails a lil and drifts toward the center line. I come totally off the throttle and back on. It must have scared him because when I looked back he was WAY back there. he ended up running a 16.8.

I later raced a guy in a turbo Corado that was telling me how he ran 12.9 while in the parking lot. Just by chance I lined up with him. I pulled a 13.8 with a 2.3 60' and he pulled a 14.0. It was close though because he had like a .59 reaction. he later told me he had no traction. I told him "Neither did I". He was a cool guy though and I'm not one to rub it in.

Just thought I'd share it. It was a disappointing night but there is always some gold laying around even if its in a pile of sh*t once in awhile.

Jeeze, what in the hell is wrong with your car??? 383, worked heads, cam, etc??? And high 13s???? Even an untuned car with no traction with your set-up should run high 12s....

What gives??

Nice kills btw..

What elevation are you at?
If I built my motor and only ran 13.8 I would shoot somebody.......

guys I'm gonna go back with some slicks. When I say no traction I mean NO TRACTION. I'll just put it this way....... I got on and off the throttle 2 times on both runs. One run I almost hit the 1/8th marker because I was still fish tailing. My tires are over 2 years old, slick and bald. I just went cause some of my frineds were going. Not quite ready yet.

He COMNBYU..... on your 12.7 run @105, what was your 60 foot time. I pulled a 13.8 @105 with a 2.3 60'

well not only the 60' is the problem.... I had to shut down near the 1/8 mi. marker because after getting into second I floored it and the tires broke loose again and I almost hit the marker. So the majority of my traction loss is coming way after my 60'. My tires are over 2 years old and bald lol. Even totally coming off the throttle I managed a 105 trap.
