LT1 Z28 stomps procharged Cobra
LT1 Z28 stomps procharged Cobra
I finally got a chance to run a friends' Cobra the other night.
Not sure what year it is: 4.6-32 valve. He added a Procharger, longtube headers, full exhaust, and methanol injection. I think he's running 12 pounds boost.
1st run was on 3 honks from a 30 roll. I LEFT him by about 4 cars and stayed there 'till I let off in the top of 4th.
2nd run, again from a 30 roll, I started from 3rd and let him go. He jumped out 'till his door was at my fender. I started coming back and when he shifted to 3rd I put about 3 cars on him, and kept pulling 'till I let off in the top of
4th. WAY to fast for the street, but I didn't want any B.S. about not giving him a chance to catch up.
He complained about traction issues, and still claims to have the faster car "if I could hook up". If that 'stang is as bad as he thinks it is, why wasn't he reeling me in after he hooked up?
Whatever, N/A bowtie power(and BMR chassis mods) got it done the way I see it.

You have nearly the same setup I have on my 97 thats sitting in the garage right now. I have converted it to a pure drag car and it has a turbo 400 auto.
I can see you putting a hurtin on him. A properly put together and tuned 396 can be a 10 second runner all day long.
