LT1 vs. SRT-4 (Austin)

I had to join to give these LT1 guys some props. Exactly the type of guys you want to run into on the road. Car enthusiasts, no haters.

We did three rolls from about 50 mph. Each time they pulled a car plus a little on me. I was damn impressed. I believe they had an intake, a hotter cam, exhaust, 4.10(?) gears with minor weight reduction work. Hell, I thought it was an LS1 it was so damn fast.

My car ('04 SRT-4) is at 265fwhp, 288fwtq (15psi).

Sweet race. It is always nice when people aren't flaming and have respect for fast cars, other than what they have. Actually, my friend is selling his 95z28 for a srt-4. I can't believe how fast they are. Buy some $.35 spring and an intake.... your set

I'm getting attached to those SRT-4s and their drivers. every time I pass by one I get no hostility from the driver and I like that. you guys are pretty awesome yourselves.

Welcome aboard fellow M******* What color SRT4 do you have? Maybe I'll see you around next spring (when my LT1 is back on the road).

They run pretty good...but unfortunately, from what I have seen, most SRT-4 owners just talk so much game and have weak times on the internet. They run decent...but not like many think. BUT, I have talked to the guys and in person, they seem pretty ok.

I have had SRT-4 guys running 99-100 mph in the 1/4 tell me that they were pulling down my Lightning in the 1/4...and they believed it...

I think the same way. It's good to know that an American car company is starting battle with all the imports. And man, are they putting up a fight. There's not one single Japanese Sport Compact that can go head to head with an SRT-4 without getting hurt.

An evo or sti wouldn't have a problem, although things could get interesting from a roll. I'd probably take the neon though, because it's so cheap. I do have a problem with the way it looks, though. I guess I'll have to wait till the solstice comes out so I can put a turbo on that.

I did forget about the EVo and STi, but for some reason I dont really compare the 2 to the SRT-4 that much. I look at them as more of Mustang and Camaro competition. And like you said, the SRT-4 is so cheap I usually compare it to other cares within it's price range.
