LT1 vs. LS1

This is a 100% True story, just happended during my lunch hour today. Belive it if you want, I scared an Ls1 today. Here we are cruising back to work w/ 3 people in my car and I see this formula ls1 in my rear view, he pulls up next to me and revs(I couldn hardly hear and he had a catback lol) and I downshift into 3rd at 60mph so the revs are around 3k w/ the cutout open, I couldnt see his face cuz his windows were tinted a lot, but he looked away after the downshift. I proceeded to take off from there at WOT and shift into 4th and waited again for him, he pulled up again and ackted like I wasnt there.........Either this guy didnt know what his car was capable of or was scared of mine.

eat that ls1... Bet this guy thought I had a 6 since it is a formula, but when the downshift came he pooped himself. I swear the cutout makes the car sound a lot faster then it really is. IT scared ricers a lot.

+ 1 for the LT1 win by intimidation.

(Made this thread to go along w/ the popular trend in the kills forum)

One thing I've learned is that mean sounding cars doesn't necessarily mean it's fast. I've killed many cars what was so friggin loud that I could hear myself think. At the same time, the old adage of "It's the quite ones that you should be worried with" is true in some cases.

Because I doubt he was "scared" of your car.

A cutout only car doesn't sound "scary", just loud.

And, for the record:

You can see the beast LT1 I used to own. Even with a cam gluggin through full exhaust and almost every supporting mod in the book, I STILL got the dirty looks from ricers and LS1s like, "who is the garbage" with a cringe on their face. Rarely intimidating ppl.

However, my bone *** stock LS1 intimidated more people in 1 weekend then my modded to hell LT1 ever did. Most ppl don't look at me when I rev. According to your definition, they must be "scared" of me for not looking.

BTW, ur story isn't even a kill. It's just trash talk, so here is some back at ya.

In another thread it didnt seem you decribed your LT1 as much of a 'beast' at all. Furthomore if your beast was getting spanked by .5 second and a few MPH by a car with a slighter larger XE503 I'd hardly call it a beast. Especially when the car beating you by .5 seconds and a few mph's is supposedly, from your description, as slow as your nearly stock LS1. To which I might add you say you "SUCK" at shifting in. So let me get this straight, my bolt on LT1 is beating similarly modded LS1's, like yours, which there in would seem to correrlate that I'm around how fast your friends XE503 LT1, therefore leading to the simple calculation that your 'BEAST' Hotcammed LT1 was running around being slower than my bolt on LT1? I wouldnt be intimidated by that either. Nor would I be intimidated by a stock sounding WS6 with a better than LT1's attitude.

If I went around revving at people and they didnt rev back I'd say they just werent interested or dont care, then again I'm not the sort. But if I get rev'ed at and rev'ed back, then they look away like nothing happened, I'd say they bit off more than they thought they could chew and perhaps are a bit scared off by their miscalculation.

I think everyone who knows a bit about f-body's would be more intimidated by a camm'ed LT1 than a mild bolt on LS1. I sure would.

A little trash back

Roger that dude... I have struck some fear into some cars without trying... and trying. two different Evo guys. One black one gave me a rev... I gave a rev back (I was cruising @ 60 in 6th) and he just laughed and shook his head. hahaha That was funny! Nonetheless, we didn't race although I wanted too!

I raced a WRX who was scared after I raced him. hahaha He definitely expected to walk me. He did the ricer fly by and got me to bite. He definitely had aftermarket parts. Exhaust/Wastegate/Blowoff at least... but after the race he just complimented my car saying "Your car is SICK... SOUNDS AMAZING!!" and I did the same. I just didn't use those exact words. haha

Said he knows he's going to lose but he wanted to go again. haha

Anyway... Evos, 350z, and a G35. Nothing CRAZY that would have walked me but it was just funny I thought. The people who weren't scared were the people who were driving 15 second cars. hahahaha Honda guy... omg that was so funny! haha

For the LS1 dude talking that ish... come try play those tactics with me. :-)

I love LS1s... I don't know why LS1s hate so much. Even LS2 guys have complimented me after I showed them a proper running LT1.

I said the car WAS LACKING THE TOP END IT SHOULD HAVE HAD. The key word there was HAD. The car ran great at first, then developed a lot of issues, because it was LT1 garbage. I never had a chance to run it at the track when all the work was first done, and I won't make assumptions about what it would have run (I guess I'll leave that to you, since you sound like a real expert at assumptions). Although even in its worst form I'm sure it could beat you.

Have you ever been to the track? It certainly sounds like you haven't. You do a lot of bench racing, typical of someone who really doesn't know what they are talking about. Your "simple calculation" means about as much as the rest of your words - nothing.

I don't know if your trying to insult me by your little rev speech, but did you actually read the OP? I was making my comment about revs to point out his assumptions. Good one catching that.

In fact, your whole post is based on bench racing and heresy and assumptions. That's not really trash talk, just ignorance.
