went out to the local meets tonite. noticed a very nice vette parked near me, but noone knew who the driver was. then this young kid gets in and starts to leave! as he is pulling out i ask "is it an lt4?" yup and he puts it in park. i ask if he is willing to run it. yup. i ask what roll he wants, we agree on 20 or 40 depending on traffic. we get out to the highway, both have one passenger. first run was a 30 roll. i spin a lil, and by 80 had a car on him. he pulls up and wants to go again. says he hit the revlimiter on the 2-3 shift (he left it in 2nd, thought he was in drive) next roll was a 20, this time it was totally fair. by 110 had a lil over 2 cars on him! hell yeah! that made my night. went back to the spot and bs'ed for a few. grandpa gave it to him for graduation, only had 10,190 miles it immaculate condition
anyway i am glad i asked for the run, cuz that will prob be my last chance to run one an lt4 vette!

 

Good Kill, I raced one not to long ago, I never figured out if it was a LT1 or LT4.

Good Kill, surprised you put 2 cars on him, those vettes are known to hit around 108-109 mph traps stock

 

well i woke up this mornin and looked his car up. i think i just ran an lt1 with the handling package. it was a z51 for sure. so i guess he is just telling people its an lt4. from what i gathered on the net just now, all lt4 came with manual tranny. i ran an auto
they are only rated 15 more ponies from the factory! well i am only puttin down 267 to the wheels, he must be only puttin 230ish!

p.s. i ran a 95 style TT rx7 as well. butnot heads up, he kinda got the hit and i was playing catch up. 45 roll, he jumps out a car. at 60 i stop his pull and slowly reel him in, but not anything special and we let out at 70. just wondering how them perform near stock?

 

Yea thats makes more sence, there was no auto LT4's ..All 96 6spds were LT4's

 

Stock, the 93-95 Rx7 manual will run high 13's around 101 mph in my experience. Rarely do you find stock ones though.

Sucks that the Vette was an LT1, but the LT4 probably would've walked you. Good kill.

I was just about to burst your bubble there too, haha. As stated they were all 6 speeds. YOu arent pulling ANY LT4 vette that has a semi-competent driver witha 104mph trap. Good race anyhow.

My boss has an LT-4 Vette and we ran last fall. From a 20 roll he got the hit. I spun and he was out in front by a car. I played catch-up and at close to the top of third gear(~80 MPH) we were dead even and I was pulling. I think I heard that he LT-4 Vettes will run mid-low 13's, which is pretty stout. When I get the bottle back in my car I'll challenge him to a rematch just to see the look on his face when he gets spanked.
