LT1 Camaro Vs. LT1 Vette Vs. 5.0 GT
Im coming home from Hooters tonight and pull up to a red light next to what i though was a L98 Vette(i dont know how to tell which C4 is which). I really thought nothing of it other than i looked the car over while i was sitting there (Very nice i might add) and the guy yells over "HEY, WANNA RUN EM AND SMOKE THIS RETARD?!?!?!?! At this point im thinking that the guy just called me a retard untill i realized that there was a sort of riced out 93ish GT behind him (no offense if your hispanic but it was the typical beanermobile in the DC area). I gave him the Thumbs up and we went on green. He had launch trouble and i pulled on him out of the hole but at speed he held at my rear bumper untill i shut down at 100. The Stang on the other hand was not so close At the next light i asked what it had for a motor and he told me that it was an LT1w/ catback, CAI, TB. I thought it was a good run except for his spinning at the line. Just thought id post.

well my A/F ratio was all messed up untill i installed my MadZ28 tune yesterday before going to hooters. It made a HUGE difference from before. Im gonna go have it dynoed today after work.

I'm going to go lower at 260 rwhp, only numbers I've seen from the edelbrock heads had them just barely outperforming the stock heads flow wise so I'm figuring they've not affected power much. So a couple bolt ons, 250-260 rwhp should be about right for an A4 LT1... Guess we'll see.

I dont follow the whole A4 crowd so I wasnt sure how much drivetrain loss there was. I figured he had to be loosing a good bit more than a M6 car does though.
And flow numbers arent everything. I believe the edelbrock heads run a bigger CC intake runner & exhaust. Not sure about the valve sizes though ?

well i just got back from the dyno and ran 247rwhp and 275rwtq. Although mild numbers im still ecstatic that i gained 35hp and 25tq with just a Madz28 tune, id say best bang for the buck mod there boys and girls. before i was running 212hp and 250 tq so this was a noticable gain and im still on stock exhaust manifold and exhaust. can i expect a 25-30hp gain with headers and true duals w/ no cats? i would like to be in the 265-275hp range and higher soon. thanks for your replys.

yeah i think i need to lean out the a/f a little more. on my highest run on the dyno, it was also when my car when a little lean, so i think i can get a little more out of it with a dynotune and maybe some free flowing exhaust. The exhaust is probably killing me.
