Ls1 vs. modded 5.0

Last night we finally had a new guy out in a fox body 5.0. we talked for while and decided to go have a race. he said that he ran a 12.9 in texas on slicks. here in northern utah elevation kills so a texas 12.9 is no high elevation 12.9. Anyhow he had gt-40 heads e-cam, ignition, and was on street tires.

The first race my rust showed and i hit 5th instead of third so we went again. We both launched ok and he pulled slightly in first and then then i pulled three or so cars by the end of the quarter. He was cool and it was nice to not have to race another ricer.

GT-40 heads are old school, the valves are much too small and the flow numbers are off quite a ways versus more modern heads like the AFR 165 and 185. Good kill.
