lost to an M3?

well i was goin thro a curvy road (speed limit 50 but suggested curve speed of 35) and im following this bmw m3 and its taking the curves better then i am (at 80) but when i get to the line w/ him he doesnt think of racing (i notice he has 4 exhuast pipes in a stock location) now i give it a little gas he hears my car i right in a dead zone 30-40 mph, and he wants to go... so i floor it, hes at my tail lights and by about 60-70 or so im at his tail lights...

is that a fair competition or what?

im stock 94 formula

depends on the year, the newer one would crush you, must have been an older one, those an LT1 can handle stock

yeah they make 333HP but at what RPM?,WAY too high of an RPM ill tell you that (i forgot what RPM but somewhere in the 7-8K's). From what i hear a lot of those motors have been having oil consumption problems and lots of other troubles from spinnin so high (lots of their owners feel that if it makes power up there, its fine to just let it rev up that high more often than it should). Anyways they rev higher than Cobras AND they have some pretty average gears in em. They generally trap 105-107 range, right in LS1 territory. stock of course.

These cars are Mid 13 sec at best:

Performance
Car and Driver Magazine
3.2 L, I-6, 6 Speed Manual
Skidpad 0.87 g (300-ft Skidpad)
Top Speed 159.00 mph (Governed)
1/4 Mile 13.60 sec
Idle 50.00 dBA
70 mph Cruising 72.00 dBA
0-60 4.80 sec

The M3 is a nice car...it has the HP but the torque is down and I'm pretty sure the M3 is heavier than any F-body out there. I wouldn't pay 50K for one of these IMO.
