looking for c6, and got a cbr 600rr

it's friday morning and i've decided to take the galant to work in hopes to get a race with a c6 that i had seen a few times before after work... so i get to the intersection that i've seen the vet. @ and there is no vet., but what's this? a new(er) 600rr (and another 500cc ninja)? humm... "what the heck", i say to myself, "why not"... so i get behind them and go past them with the boost @ about the 12 to 15psi mark so they can hear the turbo and just not enough to open the waste gate... they look over but i think were a bit puzzled as to why my boat of a car had the whistle of a mack truck... so i got nothing from them... so i set the cruise @ 55ish and was on my way... well as luck would have it they too were going about the speed limit, and 2 logging trucks pulled out infront of us, so i slowed down to about 45 and the bikes were now on my bumper... about 1 mile goes by and the semi's both turn left... when i let off the gas the mas air unit i have on the car drops the rpm's like a brick off a building, and the car will stall if i don't give it just a slight tap on the gas, so i do as the last semi pulls off, and what do i hear behind me..... oh yea' baby it's on, he's revin'!!! we are going about 10mph and i granny whole shot it (just flat foot the gas and go), as soon as i put the gas down he's crouching down... 1st gear i put 2 cars on him, 2nd gear was another 2, 3rd gear 1 car, 4th gear i looked back and he had had enough and he sat up... so i went back to 55mph (and so did they)... got to my turn about 4 miles down the road and gave them the thumbs up and got the same...

How fast is your Galant? Modern 600 SS machines will run 10's if the rider knows what he's doing.

Sounds like fun, I've never raced a bike before.

Re: looking for c6, and got a cbr 600rr

it's pretty quick... short list of mods (main mods), bored 4g64 hyb (2.45L)., 9:1's, eagle rods, bal. ***., magnus intake, 880 injectors, pro-m mass air (with tuner), crower stage 3 cams, holset hx/40 turbo (bullseyepower hybrid), 1mm valves, crower springs, ported head, 22ish or 23 psi, large i/c, 110 oct gas (cheaper than 100 oct. gas), this that and the other thing...

best guess is good for about 400- 450ish to the wheels @ mid boost, much more @ high... it ran 11.8 @ 122 @ 24/25 psi and 110 oct, and ran 12.4 @ 114ish on 93 oct gas, will not get any better 60ft than the 1.8's (still has the 3 bolt rear)... i truely think if i put 116 oct, and crank the boost to 37ish psi the car may run 10's, as it stands it's pretty close to getting kicked off the track (no cage) as it is...

the guy on the bike looked like he was in the 200+lb rider (my size), so i don't see him running too awful fast... the 600rr is pretty new i think but i have not had a rocket for 4+ years and stopped my 2 bike rags when i sold the bike (didn't want to read about what i couldn't have)...

Your Galant sounds awesome, I like the idea of a sleeper car that has some serious power like that.

Do you have blow off valves on the Galant? My Z would stall like that when I let off the gas under boost cause the valves were venting metered air to the atmosphere instead of recirculating it into the tb like the stock valves do. Just a thought.

yes i have a bov, it's a tial, have a tial w/g too... was one of those "other things" i left out... and i know/understand what you are saying about the air...
i have a pull thru mass now, i hope to have a flow thru soon and this should cure the stalling problem...

Re: looking for c6, and got a cbr 600rr

When you run a bike, the outcome is usually 99% dependent on rider ability. His car is plenty quick enough to totally surprise most bike owners. I've beaten many cars that were "supposed" to be faster than me so I don't see why a bike would be any different.

I once ran a bike from a light (I can't ID bikes so I don't know what it was) in my Stealth and he was gonna toy with me. He looked over & revved a few times, laughing at me. He pulled the front end up when the light went green and I just waxed him up to ~ 80 and the next light. He wasn't laughing anymore.

And I don't think I've ever seen such a high hp GVR4 still on the 3-bolt rear. Makes me miss my ol' #746/2000

still on the stock e-prom too

it bounces off the rev limiter like a pin ball...

until the 3 bolt breaks i'll keep it (no $ to replace it)
