Lightning Strikes....So I Strike Back!
I am coming home today on the Turnpike doing about 75MPH or so in the middle lane. In the next Lane, I notice a Red SVT Lightning (looked liked one of those newer 02-03 Models). He was in the left lane. He Blips the throttle at me and I could not do anything cuz there was a car in front of me and his lane was clear. He blips his throttle again and guns it for only like 4 seconds or so. So I jump into his lane, right behind him. Then pass the car that was over in the middle lane and I Jump back over to the middle lane. The nose of my car was by the door handle of his car. I could tell he had an exhaust (it was loud and looked good but couldn't tell what brand) And could not tell what else he had done. I looked over quickly and he and his friend are jumping around laughing like I was intimidated or something, all cocky like. We are both doing like ~75MPH. I blip the throttle back at him (cutout closed). He takes off and so do I (but now I flipped the cutout switch to open or should I say my indimidation switch). The second I punched it, I caught up to him and we are nose to nose, then I start to pull him with a quickness and made sure I stayed in it to show him he was Clearly outpowered and so he can be the one that is intimidated as he listens to the Open exhaust of My TA blow by him. I had to shut it down quickly though cuz the car that was way infront of me was coming up with really quick. Game Over, he slowly came by after I hit the brake (normal speed now, no more racing for him) and his friend in the passenger seat had dumb founded look on his face while looking at my car. That Look on that Guys face was Priceless

I dont have any times yet (Track or Dyno)
I will be having Mufflex put on my new Jet-Hot LT Headers and make a custom off-road Y-pipe so it fits real nice with no clearance problems. Then I will have it Dyno tuned in the following weeks. I am shooting for about 450RWHP (thats about 530Flywheel HP) give or take about 10-15HP cuz of the stock heads. I think that would be more than enough for me since I drive this car everyday 500 Miles Weekly. I wont be at the track for a whiles cuz I really need some Drag Radials and a new set of rims (at the least) to get this thing to barely hook a little but I will post the times on my webpage once I go.
PS. My Coated Grotyohann Long Tubes Headers and coated Y-pipe with dual Random cats will be for sale real Cheap in about 2 weeks. If anyone is interested, shoot me an email or PM.

I think they were rated at 360 and 380 horsepower depending on the year. They were underrated though. They weigh about 4500 lbs. and make at least 325 rwhp stock.

That was the first thing that Popped into my head when I saw his friend in the passenger seat look at my car with that dumb founded look. And I bet he does think twice the next time he runs across a 4th Gen F-Body and tries that again

Funny thing is that about a 2 weeks ago after I picked up my car with the new Trans Installed. My wife was in her truck in the next lane and we were doing about 65MPH. I flipped the cutout and opened up the car to see what the new trans and converter could do on the highway and ran it up to about 115MPH. My wifes truck that was next to me, disappeared so fast it was not even funny. Later, after I let off, she finally made her way next to my car again and pulled up besides me and told me that even though she could not see me, she could hear me all the way until I left off the throttle. She said the car is so loud when I gunned that not only could she hear it but she could feel the exhaust roar from inside her truck with her windows rolled up. She said it gave her goose bumps! She is a complete car chick by the way and loves this sorta stuff!!
My friend told me that when he is next to me and I open it up, he cant even hear his car or feel what his engine is doing and he has a 97Z supercharged with headers and a hooker catback so it aint quiet by anymeans...He told me that he will take my car on the highway and drive it while I am in My wifes truck in the next lane to experience the same thing he and my wife says. He said not only is it Very loud but it sounds So Intimidating and Mean! (probably meaner than the car actually is).
So I know that SVT must have been hearing the same thing!

I wanted to get a new custom Y-pipe installed on the grots and after I thought about it, it would only be a couple hundred bucks more to upgrade to the Jet-Hot LT with better Plug and starter clearance and a custom off road Pipe. Plus, I figure I could sell the grots and offset the price.

I was told many different HP estimates by many different folks that went my route with stock heads. All way from 425RWHP to 500+RWHP. Even when I get it dyno tuned, I will keep it somewhat conservative so I can drive the car year round and not worry about it. Sure it will cost me some HP but for piece of mind, I think its worth it. Plus I dont see too many 530+flywheel HP EVERYDAY cars running around over here

I think the main thing that will bring my HP numbers down are the stock heads and only using a 2 core intercooler but I may upgrade the IC later or Just add Alky or Water Injection. But for now, after my new exhaust and dyno tuning. I will be very Happy with the car for a long time or at least till next year
