Unfortunate that this car never has and never will come to the states... Instead we will get a detuned skyline with an NA motor... with nowhere near the capablility of the RB26 motor... True auto enthusists enjoy it while it lasts...

not even the ***'s are going to get the turbo engine much longer, as it is not going to pass their rather lax emission laws (new laws will stop it's future production)... heck just look @ the wrx, i mean how many cat's DOES it take to clean that dirty engine up(not a bash, i like wrx and sti's)...

That thing pulled through the gears faster than anything I've seen. Isn't there a longer version of that video that has a Supra in it too? I remeber that the Skyline completely owned the Supra.

From what I can see its an R34 Skyline with a GT2530 Turbo with valvetrain work...

The video is of the car throwing itself through a road course...

From what I have read elsewhere it gives the car near 700 horsepower and a powerband shaped like a brick from 4000-9000 rpms.

That's an old video and those guys are famous for tuning cars.I have both the skyline and the supra somewhere in my video archives. The skyline has always been my favorite car,but with an over $90.000 pricetag and over $30.000 it would cost to make it street legal in America makes it too impossible for me to own one.BTW From what i remember that engine is pretty much stock to leave the customers room for their own tuning.

Talk to motorex if you don't beleve me.Last time i checked an r34 v-soec II was 95.000 and it was around 30.000 to ship, and make it street legal.Try motorex.net,they're one of the 2 or so importers of skylines.I wouldn't import one from anywhere else.

Yeah they are pretty pricey to get one legally you would have to be rich... Importing and legalizing cars that werent meant to be here is expensive.

We are getting a version made for the states in 2007 but as mentioned it will be watered down... We will be getting a NA infinity V8 while the japanese and eurpoeans will be getting a 3.5 litre twin turbocharged V6 version. Rumor has it the new body style will be based on the G35.

That thing is nutz! I completely belive the Supra getting owned in the twisties because the Skyline has AWD, but there is also a video of a Supra vs Skyline in straight-line performance...Supra catches and passes the Skyline maybe 200ft before the finish. Very fast cars indeed. Wish my V6maro was that fast.

EDIT: Found the video site: http://www.toyotasupra.ch/videos/videos3.shtml

Supra vs Skyline is the name of the vid

That is not a mine's skyline. In fact i'm pretty sure it's just a stock skyline. It's also not an r34 but the older r33.The supra seems stock as well except for the veilside body kit.

This is true Jaeger, but IMO I think it's better to compare the cars stock vs stock, once mods are implemented it could go anywhere. Skyline vs Supra (both stock). Skyline would win on a road course and Supra would win straight-line. I don't think the mines skyline would take the Toms Castrol Rally Supra on the road course.....or would it? I would love to see the long version of that vid because I've only seen one Supra perform on auto x and it was hardly a professional driver.

I know of that site, but I don't wanna pay $5 bucks a month for non-shatty downloads. That's fast food money . Maybe you could transfer some of those vids over MSN or something? I wouldn't mind having a Supra or any other Turbo car at ALL, but the only thing I'm saving my money for is the 5th Gen Camaro.
