Last night's kill list

Last night's kill list
Did the midnight madness drags (legal street racing basically, no slips) last night after I got killed in bracket racing. I was actually surprised I beat a couple of these by such big margins.
04 Mustang GT
WRX STI (!)
03 Mustang GT
11 Mustang 5.0 (!)
09 Challenger R/T (then he turned off traction control, he broke 8.49 then)
SRT4
Various Civics
Dodge Durango (?)
The Challenger guy was runnin around a tenth of a second slower than me (fastest run was a 8.67 yesterday) but then he said "man, I'm gonna turn the traction control off" and after he finished, the official told him to go put a helmet on if he wanted to keep runnin. That thing is pretty quick.

Re: Last night's kill list
The Challenger sounds quick for the regular RT. Know if he was a stick or auto? That platform seems to hook well, esp. the newer revision out this year. Dodge is notorious for torque management too.
My Legacy ran 8.80s in stock form so the STi should be good for at least 8.50s with an experienced driver. Bog it and you'll see high 9s or worse.

It was an auto. Pretty cool guy, we b.s.'d between races, and let me use his inflation kit to put the air back in my tires. He did have some sort of programmer, but I forgot what it was.
As far as the STi, I thought they were quicker than that. I had quite a bit of distance on him at the end.

Re: Last night's kill list
STIs are only fast because of the launch -- 5000rpm clutch dump = 1.7 60' on street tires. They generally don't put up with that abuse for very long, and a smart owner would most likely not be launching that hard. After the launch, a stock LS1 will pull on it through the quarter mile and beyond.
What's the story with the '11 GT? Auto or manual? A friend of mine has one (manual), and we've done little street races here and there; it's a pretty close match. I was surprised, given the horsepower advantage.

Stick. He even gave me a little "no chance" smile before we went on the track.

Re: Last night's kill list
Best times in those new stangs are with the 6 speed autos! They're 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. I love my camaros man but i would give my left nut for one of those 5.0. I have a chance too win one this month on the 29th if i do we'll have too meet up and run those puppies lol. Nice list btw._p.s i won two brand new seadoos last year at the same location. This casino hates me lol im up over 50000 in the last 3 years. I got a lt1 in progress too. That should eat those 5.0s up
