Killed 03 Cobra!

This not just another BS story but a kill by intimdation. I was at the track and I saw a white 03 that didn't sound too stock. It clicked off a 12.09@116mph pass and I was impressed. It had Nitto's, pulleys, exhaust and a chip from what he told me. He saw my car run 12.05,12.00, and 12.01@113 and came take a look under the hood. He spotted the Nitrous kit and said Oh thats why that car runs so well. I told him these passes where straight motor and he acted like he didn't believe me. He then went and ran 11.89@117mph. So I pulled up next to his car and told him lets go see if I was telling the truth or not but he declined to race. I pulled up and sprayed after the 60' b/c the car was not hooking on motor best 60' 1.70. I sprayed until the 1/8th b/c i knew it wasn't a real good pass anyways b/c it didn't leave hard. 11.41@116mph. When I came back around he was like is that all you got? I said put up $$$ and we will find out. He declined again

Typical cobra guy, mod mounds suck, and so do most of their owners. Reminds me of the 03 cobra I raced and he ended the conversation in you needed a super charger just to win.

Nice kill

Chevy rules

No pissing matches today . 375 hp for 34k kind of sucks, and chevy will rule again in 05.

Are they coming out with the Camaro again in '05? I've heard talk, but have they made it official?

the only thing Chevy would have to do is slap a S/C on the C5. then the cobra boys would just complain about "well ur motor is a 5.7,mines only a 4.6"

ive been around several people that wont race a Z28 just b/c their GT has a 302 and the Z28 (LT1) had a 350. im sorry, but its not our fault ford put a smaller motor in it.

They don't dyno 500+ rwhp w/ just a pulley and exhaust, they dyno 430-450 rwhp w/ pulley and exhaust...oh and I think 375 is a little high on the stock numbers. I see more like 360 rwhp. Not too shabby though, really.

Do you know what pulleys, exhaust and chip for that car cost. He had well over $1,500 plus he had Nitto drag radials and he trailered it to the track. So add up a $35,000 for the car + $1,500-$2,000 mods. For $37,000-38,000 for a 11.80 car You can spend that kind of money b/c i wouldn't.

I might buy one some day if it had a 5.0, 5.8, but the mod motor is the worst pile I have ever worked on.

Yeah it is more powerful, but easier/cheaper to work on is what 94SLUG meant I think.

Yup. Mod motors suck. Damn things hardly run at all in n/a form with just bolt-ons and slicks. I should go out and buy a $5000 LT1 and move up in the world.
