I rarely street race anymore, but I was in the mood the past few days.

Last Thursday on my way to work, I was driving the GTO and I noticed a Bullitt Mustang up ahead of me. He turned off the highway onto the same road I was taking on my way to work. I followed him and pulled up next to him. He accelerated a little so I knew he wanted to play. I downshifted into 3rd at 65 mph and waved my hand for him to go ahead and take the jump. He jumped and I nailed it. I pulled 5-6 cars on him from 65 to ~ 120. We talked for a few minutes and I headed off to work.

A couple days later I was driving my Camaro on the same road and came across a Saturn Sky with a woman driver. She was driving kind of slow so I went to pass her and she nailed it. I let her run out for a second then I downshifted to 2nd around 50 mph and immediately closed the couple car gap and by the top of 2nd I was even with her. I banged 3rd and by the top of 3rd I had 7-8 cars on her. I stuck it in 4th for a few seconds and I ended up with ~ 10-12 cars on her. She pulled up next to me and had the top down. She just laughed and took off.

 

Yep, LS2 GTOs are pretty fast.

 

What all is done to the GTO? I have raced a few of those and either pulled even or beat em, lost to one from missing 4th.

 

The GTO is bone stock and I'm pretty sure the Bullitt was stock as well.

 

2v GT's dont have any business racing ls2 gto's without a good amount of mods or fi...good kill.
