Like said this month it seems that every race I've had has been with a FI car/truck. This weekend raced my first Lightning (01). Sitting over at my friends house and another friend calls me and tells me to get out to the school parking lot. It was homecoming (HS) and a guy from the school we played came down in his lightning. Young kid, never raced and wanted to give it a go. So we go outta town to the local "drag strip" which consists of 6 miles of flat straight road. My friends were all in a truck and they drove down the road to make sure everything was clear. Meanwhile I talk to the kid and his friends (who were in a SportTrac). Lightning was bone stock. The road was clear so we headed out to line up. We got flagged and off we went. We both spun fairly bad (cold out) and stayed right together. I took him off the line and by the end of a 1/4 I beat him. Surprisingly he pulled on me after the 1/4. I figured if anything I would have walked off on him (aerodynamics).

The week before I had my first race with a turbo civic. Was coming back from the bowling alley and pull up at a light by a civic. I see guages on his pillar and decide to find out if they are real or for show. Nail it from the light and tear him up (he wasn't racing). Get to the next light and do it again. This time my friend who was behind me in his jeep calls to let me no the guy was in it the second time. We get on the highway and the civic gets next to me and cruises (didn't try a fly-by) and waited for me to make the move (from about 30-40mph). I go and pull him hard. Finally we get up to about 70 and run again. This time he stayed a car behind me before he hit it to get his boost up/cheat whatever. We stayed dead even to about 130 and let out. I was actually close enough to hear the BOV this time. Pull up to the next red light and talk to the guy. I was surprised cause he was really cool. Complimented him on the car, gave each other a thumbs up and parted ways.

All in all it's been a fun month for racing.
