I was cruising down the main street in my town talking about how those Convertable Jags looked cool and asking my buddy if he knew how fast they were, he didn't know but to get to the point low and behold 5 minutes later a blue with white drop top comes speeding up on my left, I take off from 37-40 and spin em into 2nd gear and shut down for a second to get his attention, I was thinking SCORE I caught one, and then my buddy looks at me and says wtf are you doing? Appearently on my right that I was looking there was a cop car with two cops in it, he said they were looking down but when I hit it they both stared right at me with a look of Amazement, Prolly at how stupid I was... thankfully they didn't pull out and chase me. Hehe.

Anyways, how fast are those Jag's? Don't remember the modle names, XJ7's I think? Can never find 1/4's on those bad boys.

 

Theres no XJ7 model. If you are talking about a newer ones, like the 97+ body style then theres the XK8, 290hp which is what most are. Then theres the XKR, 370hp which is a good match for a slightly modded LS1 and then there the XK100 which has a little more hp, Jaguar claims around 400hp but everyone I've driven didn't seem any faster then the XKR. The cars aren't as fast as you'd think they'd be with the amount of power Jaguar claims they have. They're heavy and have gearing more suited for highway driving. If it was an XK8 (most common) then you'd have blown his door off.
