I was on I-10 going home when this nice black on silver 01 cobra pulls up next to me, rides there for a few, then punches it and pulls away. There was a car in front of me so I moved over and caught up to the cobra. He moved into the next lane so I could get up along side him and when we were even, we hit it. We went from ~70mph, and up to 120 I was pulling ahead. All of a sudden he shoots out ahead of me about 3 cars and holds it to 150.
He either has a great top end or he sprayed me. But the game is, “RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG” and I lost.

I believe the 01 Cobra came with 320hp and I’m sure he wasn’t stock. I guess I’ll have to put my car on the bottle so this doesn’t happen again. Anyone have any suggestions for a good wet kit thats easy to install?

All of the wet kits are equally easy to install. I have heard good things about NX for LT1 cars. If you have the bottle and run into that same cobra again, Im sure the outcome will be WAY different

Out here there are several stretches of I-10 that are pretty empty and there are a lot of long stretches that run straight. So yes, I have had my car up to those speeds a few times.

I have the TNT wet kit for my LT1 and i love the setup they have, no complaints here.

01 Cobra's have the ability to run in the lower 13's stock w/ the right driver. There almost a 1/2 second faster then a LT1 right out of the gate..It sounds like he sprayed you but a Cobra w/ the right gearing,driving and bolt ons can easily run well in the 12's.

Put a little shot on your car and you won't have to worry. For a guage of what the nitrous will do for you, when my car was stock w/ 100 shot I pulled at 2 1/2 cars on an '03 Cobra from 30 to 110. We talked afterwards and he said he had catback, CAI, overdrive pulley on the blower and a chip. i will say that most of my pull I got from 30- 80. It was pretty even from there, and of course I didn't tell him I was spraying.

The point I was trying to make was that the cobra has a big advantage right out of the gate. "Little better then a Lt1" is a far reach from the truth... Head to head a 01 cobra will kill a LT1 both being stock. A hot cammed LT1 isnt much faster then a 01 Cobra. Most LT4 Cars run in the lower 13's.Ever since the terminator came out no one could careless about any cobra but them. Never seen so many 99/01 cobras for sale in my life.
