How Do you launch your 6spd
How Do you launch your 6spd
How do you lauch at the track with manual? do you have to hold in the brake..iam gunna get line lock for the burnout part..but can you use it wen you get up too the tree?
Most tracks are flat enough the car won't move on the line, and if it does it takes very little contact on the peddle to keep it from rolling.
At your level your better off to just use the left side of your right foot to slightly press the brake enough to keep it from rolling. Then all you have to do is slide it to the right as you mash the gas.
You can use it at the tree if you choose, just practice your release time on the tree or your RT's will suffer.
Your launch itself depends on your tires and power level. Street tires and near stock power, I could launch just below 3000 with just enough tirespin to not bog.
Post some info about your car and you'll get some pretty specific answers. Though they will only get you close, every car is different and it will take practice to get your best times out of it.

FWIW, with just bolt on's, on the street, I can launch from about 2300-2400, letting the clutch out fast, not side stepping it though. As I do this, I lay into the throttle until the clutch is all the way out and then fastly, but easily work the pedal to the floor through first.
For street racers with boners who cant launch thier car, an at idle first gear roll works great with my tires. If I am at idle RPMs in first, and floor it, I p[retty much hook right up. Any higher an RPM though and I get a smoke show.

I was tought this a while ago and I've experimented w/ a couple of my cars.
Find where the clutch starts to grip, push the clutch back down a little bit. Rev to about 2000 rpm, depending on tires. When the light turns green just quickly slip the clutch out while compensating for bog w/ the throttle. It's not a DUMP, it's a quick controlled clutch engaugment.
Just keep messing w/ this and when you get it you'll know. It takes a little bit and it's kind of hard to explain, but I think I got it w/ that.

Not with a stock clutch, tranny, driveshaft (U-joints) or 10-bolt you don't!!!
Well, you "can", but that won't work too many times, if once at all?!
I think I get what you're saying, and that sounds sort of like what I was "striving for" when I took my car to the track!
However, since I was on crappy street tires with not much life left in them, I was launching from a lower RPM, but that was still my "attempted" technique!
Basically, a very aggressive "street launch"
(sort of "riding the clutch" for a brief moment to balance out tire spin and engine bog
).
My best 60' that night was 2.152, which I thought wasn't bad for:
A) my first time at the track EVER with the 6-speed
B) running really crappy street tires
C) having 3.23 gears out back!!!
