yea there would have been alot of sence running a high/mid 13 second LT1 vs. a low 12 second GT...If I had any clue that was you at UPS I woulda ran for fun on 18 that day, you should have just sat by my car in the lot, I told ya when I got off, instead of comming on the board and sayin I ran from ya when I had no clue at all it was u. ....You looked like any ordinary "stock looking" GT right down to the wheels when I saw you in front, I didnt think anything of it. I was just a punk kid then who thought he had the fastest thing around, times change, and right now theres about a million things more important then a car/ or whos the fastest around...its still my passion though, and I will get back in the scene asap. I ran Hoss a few times on 18 and a few other friends but I like to keep the street racing to a minimun. BTW good job keeping that Cobra down on the launch's w/ stock rubber, thats no small feat. I see no reason why that thing wont cut low 12's (if still stock) in cooler fall weather.

Very cool.
You and me Cosby.
Who will run quicker in a stock '03/'04?
You've got the seat time, but I can bang a gear pretty well.
/I predict lots of unhappy "internet racers" out there.

Well...you irritated just about everybody back then...even F-body owners. Showing up for a race to back up internet braggadocio goes quite far.
These cars will hook fine on the stock rubber when driven carefully. Takes practice and patience. Cosby will be showing us how it's done.

Cobra will not be a race car. I won't be racing for the next couple of years do to my job. It will see the track, but mostly it will be my street car. I have some plans/ideas for it, but they will wait till I see what I can ring out of a "stocker" in good air.

We're in the same boat.
I've got almost 9k miles on the Cobra in less than 4 months, and put about a dozen passes on it in the first month I owned it. Haven't raced it since (well...not at the track). I bought a pulley, CAI and a set of 10.5's for the back, but I don't want to mod it yet. The car is a blast as it is. I'm also determined to get it into the mid-11's on 100% stock exhaust. I drive too much to deal with a loud, obnoxious, droning catback.
In the last 6k miles, it has loosened up. It feels more crisp than it did, and with some good fall air, I predict some decent times this fall.
I'm sure you'll be posting some impressive slips after the break-in period.

That was a motor pass he made. He got beat last night in a $$$ race. Actually, the white GT that was there on Monday and he had a motor run. The LX gave the break and two cars and lost by two cars.
FYI...I beat the white GT about a month ago by ~3 cars in the Buick on a soft launch with cold tires.

You have a lot to learn, son. Hardly anybody sprays '03/'04 Cobras. They don't need to. Just add a pulley, intake, exhaust, tuning etc. and you have the the same power as nitrous all the time for nearly the same cost. The new Cobras run hard, you must accept this. The LS1 is not almighty.

Thanks for the props. I like to think the car plays the bigger role. These things have a great torque curve and react very well to powershifting and an aggressive hand. These cars have the potential to run 12's with even a modest driver, IMO.
