Talking HEMI did some KILLING

My buddy has a '99 GMC w/5.3...he has duals w/H-pipe and a K&N filter anyways we were goofing around on the way to work and leaving a stop sign he starts to come around me at about 25mph I floored the old HEMI....it took FOREVER for the Dodge's 5sp Auto to down shift.....by the time I got into a lower gear my buddy was next to me with some pretty good overtake going on....once the Dodge got spooled up it was no contest....the HEMI BLEW by like the GMC was standing still.....Truck VS Truck....HEMI is KING!! ...........(....blah blah Lightning/SRT J/K)

PS. I want to put true duals on my truck with an H-pipe and no mufflers....some say this will kill my gas mileage? I thought it would increase it?

Possibly- going overboard on an exhaust on a truck can hurt the low end quite a bit sometimes, which trucks need much more than cars do (much more weight to carry around). A freer flowing exhaust could help you, but only if you don't take it to extremes. I would recomend some type of muffler(s) in there to help with the low end but not destroy any mid/top end gains you would be hoping for...
